Shawn Gann, the winner of the Englishtown round, qualified in the No. 1 spot with a 7.13 ~DUNLDP TRUCK TIRES but lost in the semifinals to Tonglet, who beat him on a holeshot, 7.23 to a quicker 7.22. Team 23's Angelle Savoie, who entered the race as the points leader, suffered a similar fate in the first round at the hands of K&N Filters' Steve Johnson. Savoie had beaten Johnson 17 of the 18 times they've raced, but. in Madison, Johnson won on a huge holeshot as his 7.26 held off Savoie's 7.16.
