Dougie Lampkin (Mon) and Marc Freixa (Hon) took a win apiece away from the fihh round of the World Trials Championship in Andorra, June 21-22, Lampkin topped Takahisa Fujinami (Hon) and Adam Raga (GG) to win the first day, with Freixa beating Lampkin and Fujinami on day two, Lampkin now leads the World Championship over Fujinami, 168-163, 'Team FMF/Suzuki had a good weekend at the ISDE Two-Day Qualifier in Hancock, New York, June 21-23, as two of its three team riders finished 1-2. Steve Hatch and Rodney Smith stood on the top two steps of the podium following the wet and muddy event. Hatch, who grew up in Ithaca, New York, led after day one, and he managed to keep the lead aher day two to take the overall win. Smith, on the other hand, battled back on Sunday to pass Barry Hawk (Yam) to take second. Hawk held on to finish third overall. Fourth overall went to Chuck Woodford, while Fred Hoess (Hus) rounded out the top five overall. Sixth place went to Italian Jamo Borano (Hon). Jason Raines (Yam) finished seventh, followed by Mike Lafferty (KTM) and Team Suzuki's member Mike Kiedrowski. Multitime ISDE gold medalist Kevin Hines returned to action and finished 11th overall. James Large (H-D) stole the show in the fourth round of the AMA National Championship Hillclimb Series, held at Ski World in central Indiana on June 22. Large topped the 800cc class, beating defending champion Dave Watson (Hon) and Chad Disbennett (TriJ. Watson's runner-up finish moves him into the lead in the series ahead of Walter Strank Jr. (Yam), who finished fifth. Watson, however, rebounded to take the 540cc win ahead of Phil Libhart CTri) and John Hamilton Jr. (TriJ. Paul Carpenter (Hon) took top honors at the seventh round of the AMA/Maxxis Tires Western Four-Stroke National MX Championship Series in Boise, Idaho, on June 22. Carpenter, the defending champ, won both motos, while Jason McCormick (Hon) Dustin Nelson (Yam) battled back and forth for second place. McCormick ended up getting the upper hand aher trading 3-2 finishes with Nelson, who ended up third. Fourth place went to Mike Corder (Hon) with a 9-4, while former champ Spud Walters (Hon) rounded out the top five overall. Jimmy Wood (Hon) led from start to finish to win the Open Pro main event at round two of Gene Romero's West Coast Flat Track Series at Placerville Speedway in Placerville, California, on June 21. Defending series champion Kevin Bricker (Rot) was second. Tony Souza (CCM) was third. Rick Hocking (Yam) won the Saddlemen Open Vintage main event. Brad Spencer (Yam) was second. Robert Scally (Tri) was third. Scally won the [j{][}j]~~\!l&Jf?!JD&J ©@D@(2)f?&Jli@~ fJ @@ L!@&JfJ0 williDD {Jf)W@&Jli@@ f?d@@c[J~ Husqvarna is back in full swing again and will be introducing an updated line of 2004 off-road and motocross machines. The company will offer five motocross models - two two-strokes (CR125 and CR250) and three four-strokes (TC 250, TC 450 and TC 510). Both the CR 125 and 250 feature refinements to the motor, while the TCs received mostly weight-saving updates and a new shock_ The TC 510 is an all-new model. (Unfortunately, we don't have a photo of it yet.) It's based on the TC 450 (right) but features a new stroke of 67.amm, a new piston, connecting rod and crankshaft to give it Open-class status. Along with the TC 510 comes the new TE 510 off-roader. Speaking of the TE thumpers, the TE 450 carried Swede Anders Eriksson to this year's World Enduro Championship in the 450cc Four-Stroke class.
