Parts Unlimited World Off-Road Championship Series Round 5: Washougal MX Park STORY AND PHOTOS BY MIKE DEMAREE WASHOUGAL,WA,MAYI8 ross Road Adventures held round seven of its Parts 'Unlimited World Off-Road Championship National Series and round five of the Western Series at the famous Washougal MX track at Washougal, and The Brothers Powersports Racing's Lance Smail was determined to put the bad luck that's been following him around lately behind him. And his determination paid off, as he captured his first ever WORCS race win. Recently, Smail has been in a position to win a number of WORCS rounds, but bad luck has prevented him from capturing that elusive victory. But not this time, as he jumped out to an early lead and held it there to the finish. Finishing second overall was new Team Green Kawasaki recruit Scott Sheak who was also looking to take his first win and prove to everyone that he is not just an ex-motocross star but a formidable off-road racer. Both Smail and Sheak were forced to deal with one of off-road racing's best before they could even think about winning, and that person was series leader Ty Davis, who had won four of the previous six rounds, C 34 JUNE 4. 2003' eye I Former motocrosser Scott Sheak was extremely fast at Washougal, a track he's quite familiar with.
