bers of the TCCRA." Whitting cited Tom Wright. John Hill and Jeff Parrack. in particu- lar, for their assistance, acknowledging that several others pulled over to help out as well. In racing action, the heat and dust was no match for Team Green Granbury Kawasaki rider Clay Hoenshell. The reigning Pro-class champ turned in blistering lap times en route to a win in the 48-mile Pro event. The victory, his third in as 'many tries, boosted Hoenshell's lead in the standings by 99 points. With Two Wheel World rider Sean Reddish (who came out strong on his Honda with wins in the first two rounds of the series) nursing a broken wrist sustained just prior to round three, Hoen- shell's shot at a 12th consecutive Pro title may be starting to take shape. "This race was a big turning point for me this season," said Hoenshell, 41, who also won the Pit Bike race on Saturday evening. "I've got a nice lead in the standings now. and I just need to stay focused and ride well." In Semi-Pro action, Oliver Benetis collected his second consecutive and third win overall for the series aboard his Suzuki. Brian Barnes also scored his third win for the year in five tries. riding a Suzuki in the 125cc Expert class. and John Cicur found his way to the winners' circle for the first time this year, riding a Yamaha in the 250cc Expert class. In Open Expert action, Cody Harris continued his dominating ways aboard his Yamaha, leading his class at the checkered flag for the fourth time this season. Results PRo: 1. Clay Hoenshell (Kaw); 2. APR. 27 The Pee Wee track was packed, as usual, for another day of great racing on a slightly smaller scale. The action on the Pee Wee track is in no way a direct reflection of its name. Pee Wee riders are just as serious as the big boys and girls. and it's a kick to watch their parents - who are sometimes more serious than the riders - as they chase their son or daughter around the track, cheering them on and encouraging them to "pin it!" Those were the words of the father of Pee Wee 50cc (4-6) class dominator Amber West. She gets the holeshot and doesn't look back. She rails the track and attacks every obstacle as if she were coming through the pack while her dad proudly cheers on his little girl. Carlos Rios III gave chase to the flailing ponytail in front of him during both motos for second overall. Samuel Dabney recovered from a disappointing moto·one finish of sixth to place third in moto two for third overall, behind Rios. Derek Hayward (5-4) finished fourth overall. while Joshua Hubner (4-7) held on for fifth overall. After placing fifth in mota one of the 60cc Starter" A" class. Dennyn Mattson 9rabbed the overall with a win in moto two. Moto-one winner Sammy Macaluso finished with a 1· 11 score for seventh overall. Christopher Miller finished in the runner· up spot with a 3-3 score, while third place went to Corey Purczynski (2-9). Phillip Hauser got a better start in mota two and held on for a 10-2 score and fourth overall. Hauser's better second·moto score garnered fourth. ahead of Kyle Smith (7-5). who finished fifth overall. Lem rider Brad Solomon swept the Stock Starter (7-8) class. bolting ahead of the pack to the checkered nag. Tyler Uber followed suit with a pair of deuces for second overall, and Brock King (3-4) traded finishes with Nicholas Paplia (4-3). who grabbed third overall. King finished fourth overall. ahead of Derek Hayward (5-5). Bryan Burch, Teren Salinas and Brandon Outcault did battle In the Super Pee Wee division. All three riders played cat·and-mouse around one of the best Pee Wee tracks in Southern California. Burch claimed the sweep, as Outcauit did his best to track down Salinas. who proved to be able to cover his tracks and make it to the checkered flag second in both motos. Burch claimed the moto-one win in the Modified Novice (7 -8) class. outrunning Chanz Early and Drew DiGiovanni. Early claimed the overall with a 2·1 score, and Burch still man· aged second overall with his 1-3 score, over DiGiovanni's 3·2 finishes. Caleb Fairclough handed the XR50 Advanced win to the second-place finisher in moto one, Brandon Kooiman, after Fairclough finished with a 1-3 finish. Kooiman took the mota-two win, and Zachary Forsyth moved into the number-three spot with a 4·2 score, over Phillip Hauser (3-4) and D.J. Hart. who was fifth overall. Jason Northrup, riding his stock-length KTM 380. took second place. followed by Marcus Brown and Paul Hillard. Peters' bid for a perfect day came up just one place short, as he had to settle for second place in the 600cc Four-Stroke class. Butch Fetters, the reigning National Champion in the class. posted a good 4.574-second time on his KTM 520 to take the win. with Peters claiming second with a 4.680-second time on his Yamaha YZ400F thumper.
