When it was over, the results were basically the same: A J 25cc champion on a Kawasaki emerged with the overall win. In a scene somewhat reminiscent of those played out when he won the 2001 AMA 125cc National MX title, Team Pro Circuit/Kawasaki/Chevy Trucks' Mike Brown won the first moto and then battled with Red Bull KTM's Grant Langston in the second moto to secure the overall win via 1-2 finishes. In doing so, the 30-year-old Tennessean earned his fifth career 125cc National win and became the seventh rider to win the Glen Helen 125cc National in the 10-year history of the event. It was also Kawasaki's fifth Glen Helen 125 win, as Ricky Carmichael owned the event from 1997-99, and Stewart won the race last year. Brown rode with the grit of a champion in both motos, coming from behind to pressure Boost Mobile/Yamaha/Troy Racing's Brock Sellards in the first moto and inherit the lead after Sellards crashed.
