JOIN THE HUNDREDS OF SUCCESSFUL, ACTIVE DEALERS WHO SELL CYCLE NEWS IN THEIR STORES down the front straight to start lap two. Several turns later. Mann found himself back in the lead after powering past Dowie on the back straight. For the next four laps, Dowie was content to sit on Mann's tail, but he twisted the throttle and retook the lead on lap six. Dowie and Mann were side by side at the start of the final lap, and the two racers continued to battle for the lead throughout the last 2 1/2 miles. Exiting tum nine and heading for the checkered flag, Mann used the draft to propel himself alongside Dowie. and both riders crossed the line at nearly the same time. The WSMC scorers gave the nod to Mann, leaving Dowie with second and Siglin in third. Dowie and Mann fought it out again in the Graves Motorsports 650cc Superbike race. Dowie took the early lead, with Siglin second and Sam Carnibucci third. Mann, who had started at the back of the grid, charged his way through the field and passed Camibucci on the back straight. He then used the draft to pass Siglin on the front straight to start the second of six laps, Going through the long turn-eight sweeper, Carnibucci passed Siglin on the inside of the turn for third. On the white-flag lap, Siglin waited until the racers hit the back straight to draft and pass Camibucci. Despite all his efforts. Camibucci crossed the line in third, behind winner Dowie and runnerup Mann. Results F-I: I. JeremyToye (Suz): 2. Vl~t Hukovec (Suz): 3. Stoney La""'" 1Su»: 4. Jeff St,m (Su>I: 5. Stephen Hewitt Beni Williams took the l25cc Intermediate class by storm at round seven of the USRA State Series. Both were dominating forces, as it took each of them only about two laps to show everyone else who were the bosses in the 125s. Zulian powered his YZ250F to two holeshots and proceeded to make it look easy to crujse to two moto wins. Garet Pilgrim tried to keep Zulian in sight; though he let Zulian get away too fast off the start, his lap times were equal to Zulian's, and they both pulled away from the field. Zulian had a good lead, but he was unable to put any more distance between himself and Pilgrim. Zulian and Pilgrim left the fight for third to Chris Butterfield and David Panzer who passed each other numerous times and wound up trading thirdand fourth-place finishes, with Butterfield ending up third overall with a 4-3 tally, to Panzer's I 3-4 score. Beni Williams made the trip from the World Minis in Las Vegas and arrived at the track at 7 a.m., just in time for signup. Williams had learned a few tricks and was waiting to showcase his newfound speed. Williams dominated the 125cc Intermediate class with convincing, wide-margin wins in both motos. Travis Clifton and Josh Clifton made bookends of Justin Fraughton. finishing Travis, Fraughton, Josh. Williams' bid for a double win was spoiled by Fraughton. Williams had dominated the first moto, but Fraughton was able to chase down Williams in the second moto and pass the leader on the last lap. Williams managed to pass Fraughton right back, but Fraughton again got by Williams with about half a lap to go, and Williams was unable to try another move before the checkers flew. eN 1Su». 500 MOO PROD: 1.
