lead over the rest of the field, while Whitmore was showing a lot of heart as she tried to play catch-up from a long way back. Hampshire held down second early in the mota before Gieger tracked down the Kawasaki rider and made the pass for second. Up front, Wood was gone, dominating the second mota to take first overall. Geiger's 5-2 earned her second overall. Hampshire took third overall with a 6-4 tally. Whitmore finished the event in fourth overall with a 2-7. Jessye Davis rounded out the top five. "I was lucky I got those good starts because I obviously faded towards the end," Wood said. "Both motos were equally hard because the track was a lot rougher today." Jonathan Kerr gated well in the 250cc Stock Intermediate final, taking the holeshot and jumping out to the early lead. Division winners Josh Lichtle and Shaun Skinner both struggled on the first lap, with Lichtle just inside the top five and Skinner just inside the top 10. Lichtle moved quickly, taking third from Michael Lapaglia and setting out after secondplace Chad Charbonneau. Lichtle would pass Charbonneau on the second lap and was hot on the trail of Kerr, who could not pull away. Lichtle battled briefly for the lead before taking it over and never looking back. Kerr then had his hands full with Charbonneau and Lapaglia, who would both pass Kerr on the third lap. While Lichtle was settling into the lead, Skinner was still working to gather valuable positions in hopes of salvaging his overall hopes. Skinner made a hard charge all the way to the checkers but still was unable to catch Kerr. Even with a 1-5 tally, Skinner was still second overall to Lichtle. A 4-3 finish gave Lapaglia third overall, while Micky Griffin's 2-6 score edged out Carbonneau 8-2 for fourth overall. eN MosierMX Fort Worth, Texas Results: March 14-1 S, 2003 P/W 50/JR 50 (4·8): I.
