32nd Annual World Mini Grand Prix Las Vegas Speedway title foremost in their minds. Lichtle was on fire, though, and used the run-off to claim his third championship of the week. "My modified bike blew up the weekend before World Mini, so Suzuki made me one and brought it to Las Vegas," Lichtle said. "I had a little trouble with it in my division races, but by the run-off it was perfect. The track was really so much fun." CN Las Vegas Speedway Las Vegas, Nevodo Resuhs:Aprill&-20,2003 "It was my first bad start of the week," Saylor said. "I didn't have much time in the five to six laps we had, so I started to get around the guys to a top three position. I knew that Johnson and Laughridge were in the title hunt and had to do what I had to do, and I went down when I pushed too hard in the third turn." Weigand held on to second, saying, "I got a good start and put a charge on it. It was a good race for my confidence. I think the track wasn't in the best condition, but there were more line later in the day when we race so it was rough, which separated the riders. I like rough tracks." All four 125 and 250cc Stock and Modified Intermediate events had to be scaled down by two or three division qualifiers for Sunday's run-offs. The 125cc Stock Intermediate was the first out of the chute with Yamahamounted Charlie Morrison leading the charge. Lichtle took the lead by the end of lap one and kept Morrison in the runner-up spot at the finish line. 62 MAY 7, 2003' cue • e "I didn't get the best start," Lichtle said. "But my hard training really paid off in the long run." The 250cc Stock Intermediate was next in line, as New Mexico's Mike Chiudioni pulled a textbook holeshot. The three Suzukis of Larry Reese, Partridge and Lichtle got in behind the leader, with Partridge taking over on lap two. He was followed by Lich- n eVIl's tie. Lichtle then passed Partridge for the lead on the white-flag lap when Partridge made a small mistake. "Kyle was going really fast out there," Lichtle said. "Too bad he made that mistake, or he would have won. My first division moto was good, and I won, but I crashed in the same corner twice in my second moto and then slid out on the optional jump to finish seventh, giving me a fourth overall going into the final." In spite of Lichtle's win, Partridge still took the overall with a 1-2 tally, adding another notch in the Suzuki win column. Cody Hertel of California took the holeshot in the 250cc Modified Intermediate run-off, but Lichtle was on a roll and took over the lead early in lap two after the Six-Pack on the outside corner. Kyle Chisholm got in behind Lichtle, having charged from fifth to second inside two laps. Chisholm never let Lichtle out of sight, finishing a close second for the same position overall. Lichtle's final performance came two races short of the end of the event in the 125cc Modified Intermediate class. Suzuki's Mike LaPaglia and Kawasaki's Chisholm headed into run-off with division wins and 50 STK 1·6: 1. Adam Cianciarulo (Cob): 2. Bradley Taft (Cob); 3. Brandon Oliveres (Pol); 4.
