2004 Triumph Daytona 600 By BLAKE CONNER PHOTOS By PHIL MASTERS ((j£) e were tearing along the ut is it worthy of the .1 Uo/ Autopista (freeway) at a respectable 198 kph (123 mph) when I started to fret about making the corner ahead. Sliding into the guardrail or worse yet highsiding into the guardrail - looked to be a distinct possibility. Okay, 123 mph may not sound that fast to you, but try telling that to Sportrider's Andrew Trevitt, Cycle World's Mark Hoyer, and Roadracing World's Sam Fleming, the threesome who was hanging on with white knuckles in our rented Opel minivan. Of course, it was their fault that we were in such a predicament because they had taunted my jetlagged and hungry self into taking the trusty trip-saving Opel to 200 kph in the first place. It's hard not to like the aggressive new lines on the Daytona. 18 APRIL 30,2003' cue • e n e _ s
