Rojas led off the line in the 750cc
Superstock Novice race. As Conger
fell off the pace of the front-running
pack, George Gentle moved into the
lead during the third lap. Rojas
looked for a way around for the
remaining seven laps but had to set-
tie for second. Gentle took the win,
and Conger ended up third.
In the 750cc Superstock Expert
race, Vesrah/Vanson/Suzuki rider
Tray Batey wasted no time moving to
the front. David Weber moved by
Jacobi in the kink to take second on
his XT Racing Suzuki. On the fifth
lap, Moore shot by Harwell in the kink
to take fourth. Giovanni Rojas and

Byron Barbour went through the first
corner side by side for three laps in
their match for sixth. At the end,
Batey gained the victory, Weber was
second, Jacobi secured third, Moore
held on to fourth, and Harwell was
fifth. Giovanni failed to come around,
and Barbour ended up sixth.

Ferracci 996cc Ducati. Charging to
second was Randy Hills, on his JP2
998. David Lariviere, on the big
Honda twin, ran third in the early
going but fell off the pace. Triumph
rider John Fields took third, and
Rusty Nation, on the 748cc Ducati,
finished fourth.
"I had Ferracci build my engine
with 140 to 150 horsepower," Bittner
said. "We are right there. Ferracci
said that this engine should last the
entire season. I'm pretty happy so
far. '
Batey dialed it up to run away with
the Heavyweight Twins Expert race,
riding the TL Suzuki 1000.
"It's just a good-handling bike,"
Batey said. "You could not ride it fast
if it did not handle well. It's fun to
ride, and it has good engine braking
going into the corners. It steers good
and has good, broad power."
Two Aprilia 1000s ran second and
third, with Champion and Frank
Shockley on board, respectively. Musil
ran the best on the SV650 Suzuki and
gained fourth, with Keyes fifth.
Weber and Moore ran up front in
the 600cc Superbike race. Ford followed in third, with Garofolo in fourth.
