"Thank you, Branden Jesseman for voicing your support." A Class Act get me wrong, I am so glad that It was truly a class act on the part of Branden Jesseman after his win in the S1. Louis Supercross as he showed his support for the troops fighting in Iraq right now. There are many of us over here who haven't ridden in months due to being deployed overseas, not to mention that many of us also get shot at on a regular basis. At one of the top highlights of his life, he took the time out of his glory to support us over here. It is exactly that which makes me so proud to be over here representing our country. Thank you, Branden Jesseman, for voicing your support, and thanks to all the other supercross, motocross and off-road fans and racers who feel the same way. Russ 'Splcoll' Piggott via the Internet exposure and will be seen on ABC - supercross/motocross is getting its but a one-hour show will mean a lot is being cut out. After all the commercials and announcers doing their commentary, there really will not be much racing shown. Will this mean that no 125s will be shown and only the 250cc main? Or does it mean that we'll see 20 minutes of both? Even so, that means we'll see the start, hear a few words u: Piggott is an off-road racer and an F - 16 fighter pilot... Editor Obey The Law In regards to your Voices letter "Obey the Law" from Don Ross, I am the son and the stepson to two great dirt trackers in Southern California and have been around motorcycles all my life, as my grandfather owns a dealership in Yucca Valley, California. I own a $350,000 house in La Mirada, California, and have ridden both areas known as Honda Valley and Rib Cage. I have never been convicted of a felony - nor do I plan to be in the future. In the 30 years that I have been riding motorcycles, I don't think I have ever seen a truckload of bikes and a couch running down the road. As I do recall, all the developments in this area were trying to attract lowincome residents from the city. Maybe Don should take the trash problem up with the residents of his community instead of trying to blame bike riders like myself. Who would want to load up a truck with roofing shingles and then try to fit a bike on top? Rlchy Hutr:hlns La MIrada, CA 5XTV Be Happy With 5XTV There seem to be a lot of complaints about the supercross coverage on ESPN2 lately. J can't see what the problem is. Yes, Todd Harris is a bit inexperienced compared to Art Eckman or Dave Despain, but he is getting better already. Would you rather listen to him call them "drivers" and refer to Sinatra, or have to bring back Larry Huffman? We still may be trying to figure out who teaches Dirtology 101, but at least we aren't in the blood, the guts and the beer. While it would be nice to get another experienced rider's view, like Jeff Emig, again, at least Cameron Steele keeps it light. But as far as the crowd shots go, they are fine to transition into or out of commercial breaks, but I would rather see the rest of the top 10 rather than another runaway shot of RC, or a monster-truck fan in section Z-43 with the mullet. And as far as time slots go, I think I can find the broadcast whether it is on Saturday or Sunday, but I am thankful it is not 1 a.m. on a Thursday anymore, four weeks after event. Maybe we are spoiled by rapidly updated websites such as yours, but I don't mind waiting a week for a properly edited broadcast it if means not having to deal with constant commercial breaks to fill time during delays. I guess it's cheaper for the event to be aired only one hour versus three hours of full coverage. I'll have to enjoy the next few ESPN2 supercross races in order to see some two-hour races or wait for the outdoor season. I'm glad that I'm going to the Houston Supercross in person. A two-hour supercross program would eliminate the duplication of seeing two track maps and provide more time for race coverage. Regarding Todd Harris, he is definitely improving as the season progresses, but I wish he would stop calling the 30-second board the 30 board and stop using nonracing analogies. During the Indy coverage, he referred to Earl Campbell's jersey, but being a non-stick-and-ball fan, I didn't have any idea what he is talking about. I like the Flashback segments but wish they were of races from more cue I e than three years ago or so instead of showing clips of last year's race and calling it a flashback. On a different subject, I wish Travis Pastrana was racing instead of recuperating from yet another injury. Hopefully, this time Pastrana won't practice his 140-foot jumps the week before his planned return to racing. MIchael Rigdon Hermosa Beach, CA The Last One Wouldn't it be great if ESPN's executives could hear the comments made by the viewers of their supercross coverage? Wouldn't it be great if the executives of the production company could hear the comments made by the viewers of the supercross coverage? Wouldn't it be great if the producer of the show could hear the comments made by the viewers of the supercross coverage? Unfortunately, there is a very good chance that it still would not make a difference. The producer absolutely does not have a clue. The person calling the camera shots from the truck outside the stadium has probably never even watched a supercross prior to this year. Please do not blame David Bailey; he is an employee. He does not call the shots nor pick his partners. He is the only bright spot in the whole program. I worked with Chet Burks Productions one year in Atlanta, and I was able to see a little of what goes on behind the scene. It's amazing how much work and effort it takes to do that type of show.
