AMA 1 25cc Eastern Regional Supercross Series Round 5: Edward .Jones Dome - -- on Jesseman if he wants to win his distant 14 points out of second. first indoor title. "There's two races to go, and want to win," Brown explained of his tactics. "I did my best to try and pass, but 1 went down instead. I'm going to go on to next week and try again." "I got out to a decent start and was in third, and Brownie just cleaned me," the visually upset Sellards said of his close friend and competitor for the title. "We just watched the videotape, and it was a deliberate take-out. I was going around a turn, and he did a line that nobody did and ripped me off the bike. He ruined my chances for a championship. I patted him on the back after the race and told him that he deserved to lose that race." l:N TeamRacerhouse.comjSynergy's Kelly Smith continued his strong and consistent results by finishing fourth in the final. After starting second, Smith went down with Brown early in the race while being block-passed, and he, too, got up and repassed several riders en route to his solid finish. Metcalfe started about fifth and moved liP to second at one point behind teammate Boniface, after Brown and Smith had gone down. Those two would eventually pass him back, along with Jesseman, and he would end up finishing where he started. Metcalfe commented after the race, "When those two guys went down, I was like 'Yeah, cool,' but I was so slow through the whoops that now I know what I have to work on." Metcalfe is now tied with Erick Vallejo for fifth in the standings. 9th Team ECC Suzuki's Bess rode to one of his better finishes of the year and took ninth. The Califomian started in eleventh and made several passes, eventually moving up to seventh before dropping back a few positions before the finish. "Definitely one of my better rides," commented Bess after the race. "Yf.I!elJ, I realized I was doing good on lap eight or so, I started holding my breath and got tight for the last few laps. I just want to keep getting top lOs." Because Bess is signed up as a Westem regional rider, he is not eligible for points on the East. 6th SeBe Suzuki's 125cc Frenchman finished sixth for the second time on the season. After starting 10th, Lalloz moved well through the pack and at one point was up to fifth. He was happy with his finish and is enjoying America even more. Lalloz explained, "I like it here for riding and I like this championship because every time I ride I enjoy it and have fun. I like the track because it is big, not like in Europe. I can do better with a good start, and I got a little tired because I was told two months ago that I have the Epstein-Barr virus. A podium in supercross would be good." 12th Arizona's Blose, who runs under the Team Solitaire banner, finished 12th in the final after a lackluster race. He started 13th, moved up to eleventh, fell back to 14th and then took advantage of a few downed riders to capture his overall. "I got off to a fair start but made some mistakes throughout the race and didn't have enough energy because J didn't get enough to eat earlier today."
