SHOEI DOMINATES Once again, SHOEI was the helmet to wear if you wanted to be on the podium. additional point for having finished 11 seconds after the time limit, making for a total of four. The biggest surprise came in the elimination of the former champion, Cabestany. First he slipped while descending the highest column in section three, and then he maneuvered wrong in section five and had to go back. The two heavy fives carried on his card meant that he was out of the final. Last but no least, obviously, was Lampkin, who posted one point in section three and then did not climb section six, so he arrived tied with Freixa and Fujinami. Although all three gained the right to dispute the final, it was necessary to ride a supplementary section to determine their order, because there still was the parallel to ride, and the rules call for matches between pilots according to their scores, with first against second, third against fourth, etc. Section one was chosen, and Freixa was the fastest, followed by Lampkin, so the matches were between Raga-Freixa and LampkinFujinami. Freixa and Fujinami won; consequently Raga and Lampkin got one point more. Check out the full line of SHOEI HELMETS including the all new X-ELEVEN at a dealer near you today. SHOEI . .. Lampkin was the unlucky rider chosen to open each of the sections, which would now be run in the opposite way. Ninety seconds was the time limit for each hazard. Section one soon proved to be the most difficult when faced in the opposite way. Lampkin fived it, having decided to stop before jumping on the highest cube. Fujinami made the same mistake. But Freixa tried to jump from the cube before and climbed, finishing the section with one point. Behind him, Raga arrived too near the highest cube and could not try to jump. Section two did not change the order, while in section three Freixa lost two points, and Fujinami fived. Raga lost one point plus one more for the time. Consequently, the only one still in the hunt was Lampkin, who was behind Freixa by two points. After the last sections Freixa sealed the victory with five marks. Lampkin was runnerup, with seven. Raga finished with 11, Fujinami with 15. eN Nikaia Arena Nice, france Results: March 7, 2003 [Round 10 of 11) QUALIFICATION LOOP: 1. Adam Raga (5): 2. Takahisa Fujinami (6); 3. Marc Freixa (6); 4.
