of spectators who lined the track. The
course itself was full of rocks and
whoops that would wreak havoc on
riders and their machines if they
let their concentration subside for
even a second.
Saturday night, Mother Nature
opened up her floodgates, and the
Crazy Horse Campground received a
cold bath of welcome rain that the
sandy soil sucked up like a sponge.
The downpour gave way to a beautiful Sunday morning. With the rain the
night before, the great weather, and
the fact that the Cross Roads Adventure crew filled in the whoops from
the previous day of amateur racing,
the WORCS Pro racers could not
have had a better setting to race in.
When Roger Hamel's green flag
dropped for the start of the two-hour
Pro race, Woods and Pearson
dragged-raced each other to the turn
to be first to the mud puddle that
awaited the less fortunate starters. G
Brother's Racing's Patrick Garrahan

he Parts Unlimited World OffRoad Championship Series rolled
into Lake Havasu City just in time to
kick off Spring Break and crown
Montclair Yamaha's Ty Davis "The
King of Crazy Horse." Davis, who won
here last year, was fresh off a win at
round two of the East Coast WORCS
series in Ocala, Florida, and is
quickly establishing himself again as
being one of the best off-road racers
in the country.
Davis was also surrounded by
good company at Havasu, as his
entire Montclair Yamaha/Zip-Ty Racing team stole the show by going
first, second and third, with new
recruit Nathan Woods and WORCS
National points leader Russell
Pearson finishing second and third,
respectively.
The WORCS Western Nationals is
certainly growing, and this was especially evident at this year's Havasu
race. Nearly 800 riders took on the
