Positions changed six times between Bowyer and Young as they went at it head to head over the course of the moto. Bowyer made it stick in the final section of the course just short of the checkered flag in the rhythm section. Californian Joey Rodriguez finished third. "I could barely hold on that last lap," said Fox/Oakley/DC Shoesbacked Bowyer. "It's been five years since I raced, and it took all I could to get through that last lap. As we started through the rhythm section, I moved over on Young to make the lead stick and blocked him. He wasn't real happy about it, but we talked later, and it was all good." The second moto saw Rodriguez take the lead out of the chute as e n e "" s.
