AMAIChevy Trucks U.S. Superbike Series Miguel DuHamel shows his magic again to win the Daytona 200 By PAUL CARRUTHERS PHOTOS BY HENNY RAY ABRAMS DAYTONA BEACH, FL, MAR. 10 e may not be Mr. Daytona just yet, but it would be fair enough to at least start calling him Mr. Monday. With the Daytona 200 being run for just the second time in history on a Monday afternoon, American Honda's Miguel DuHamel went out and won his fourth Daytona 200 and his second on a Monday. He is now just one victory away from Mr. Daytona Scott Russell in all-time Daytona 200 race wins, his fourtb coming in an absolute thrmer today. This one was definitely worth the H resulted in an all-Honda RC51 Victory Lane. Not bad, considering just three Hondas started the race. It was the second time Honda swept Victory Lane in the 200, the first time coming in 1985 when Freddie Spencer topped fellow Honda riders Wes Cooleva~eff1.Ianey. ~ If ~ing ~und~ells0;M~ day.,. A lonely fifth place went to Kawasaki's Eric Bostrom, the Californian well clear of Yoshimura Suzuki's Mat Mladin, who had lost touch early on after getting a bad rear tire. Yoshimura Suzuki's Ben Spies was also the victim of a bad first tire, and that put him behind. He would eventually finish seventh - not bad for the Superbike rookie in his first-ever Daytona 200. Preito Priority's Michael Barnes was the top finishing privateer, ending his day eighth on the team's Suzuki GSX-R1000. Attack Suzuki's Jason Pridmore and Millennium Kaufman Racing's Shawn Higbee rounded another rider on the run to turn one, iii'iCt fils'a1teinpt atrtding around th~ ~ er rider wasn't successful, as be ~ was simply carrying tee--gluel;t--spe~''''''''''''''-otIt-tAe-top--l0-finishers. y.He.pkked up hj~ GSX-Rl000 and DuHamel and his Honda teamwe.O.t to_the...grass, ortunate no:cto_ mates lapped all the way up to..sec sh.
