32nd ANNUAL WORlD MINI GRANO PAtX - WORLD CHAMpt()NSHIP MOTOCROSS • Uncl ANNUAL WORLD MINI GRAND PRiX. WORLD CHAMPIOHSHII' IItOlOCROSS In the final loop, sections are ridden in reverse, one rider at the time, with the order run in reverse of qualification. Each rider gets one minute to complete each section. Jarvis and Freixa both carded fives on the high tires, while both Raga and Lampkin cleaned it. Section three was the turning point. Here, Lampkin made a mistake after having come off his bike to prevent falling, and it cost him five big points. Everyone lost points in section four, while Raga matched points with his rivals in five and six. Going into the dual-lane races, Raga had carded a 10 and Lampkin 16. Freixa and Jarvis were tied with 19. Raga lost both the face-to-face races, being careful not to add any penalties more than the one point for each parallel lost. As a result, Raga gathered his fourth win out of the six rounds held thus far. Presents i I ~ • I ~ c o o i ~LASVE6AS ~ ~~ MOTOR SPEEDWAY. SUNDAY On Sunday afternoon, on the same sections, all seven riders were called for a return match. Colley was again the first to face the six hazards. This time he improved his score, dropping just nine points, but it probably was not enough to gain the final access. Indeed, Fujinami, still angry for the elimination of the day before, rode very well, losing three points in section five, and concluding with four marks in total. Eight points for Freixa and seven for Jarvis made the Japanese man smile, as he was now sure to be in final. Cabestany took his turn and cleaned the loop, gaining the respect of the Turin audience. The previous winner, Raga, scored two, while Lampkin, in dazzling form, cleaned the loop, too. In the parallels, Cabestany beat Lampkin and gained the pole position, while Raga and Fujinami shared the wins and remained in their positions, third and fourth, respectively. In the final, Lampkin saw his chance for a win go out the window right off the bat when he carded a five in section one. Cabestany grabbed the lead until section five, where he failed. Before the last section, Raga and Fujinami were still in the game. Fujinami had a one-point lead over Raga going into section two but busted the time limit, dropping a point. In section six, Fujinami took a dab and a late penalty, while Raga cleaned it with the allotted time. Raga finished off the final loop with a one against Fujinami's four. The parallels, won by Fujinami, ended up being meaningless, as Raga had it all but won going in. He played it safe to take his second win of the weekend. eN ~ i · ~ ~ LAS VEGAS NEVADA ~ ~ ~. .~ [p .... i ! ·o~._ c~~ " I ~~~~~t!;I~~-" MC~~~ s CO~1\"Gt.\\~~~ VIEWABLE ~ .TRACK100YoOMDOWN'~ o . .
