Directions: Located seven miles northwest of
Eagle, Idaho (near Boise), on Highway 16.
Facilities: Full watering system; grandstands
with view of 95 percent of the track.
Tum west on Chaparral Road.
Discipline: Motocross (soon to include Road
Racing and TI).
General Admission: J 3 and older, $6; 6 to 12,
$3; 5 and under, free. Seasonal practice and
gate admission passes available.
Track: High-banked, paved, three-eighths-mile
oval and a 1~mi1e-long motocross track. The
motocross track is a clay/sand mix, fairly
loamy when prepped. There is a mix of naturalelevation and man-made jumps.
Schedule: Racing on Sundays in the spring and
fall. Motocross every other Saturday night under
the lights during the summer.

run, and after his time was up, he finished with
a cliffhanger to a no-handed landing. The
crowd went wild.
Beau Bamburg, who finished second
behind Bartram, got his bike upside-down
when he whipped it.
"Been sick," he admitted afterward, "but I
had to bust it out for you guys because you
showed up."
On Saturday night, Andy Jones got on the
hot seat after throwing the sickest Rock-Solid
of the night. Robert Distler, trying to go big
and knock Jones off his seat, crashed hard on
a Triple Saran·Wrap attempt and suffered a
mild concussion. Drake McElroy was up next,
and he pulled off a flawless run, nudging out
Jones.
Then it was Bartram's tum.
The Cowboy had a good run, but he made
a few mistakes, and he couldn't believe he'd
bumped McElroy. In an interview after the
competition, he was asked about new tricks
he might be working on.
"I have some variations I'm working on,"
Bartram replied, "but you probably won't see
them anytime soon. I'm gonna have to do the
Back Flip, but I'm not very good at it. I don't
like tricks you have to commit to. like the
McMetz and the Back Flip, so it's hard for me.
But I'm going to have to do it to be competitive."
Kenny Bartram is one of the greatest ambas·
sadors for the sport Uust as his uncle. Guy
amazingly fast Vicioso. Jon Lewey didn't
catch Vicioso, but he ran a fast pace and fitted
nicely into the second spot. Gary Juola thundered his Kawasaki through the pack and
landed it in third. Todd Leser came in fourth
while Jim La Scola and John Este~
finished in fifth and sixth.
(Due to his promotion to the Amateur
ranks, Vicioso only contested one moto in
each class and therefore did not make the
overall tally of either class on the day.)
Tom Smith was out in front of the Over 50
Amateurs for two laps, but by lap three Chuck
Woody had gotten his new KTM up to top
speed. Woody hammered away, never slowing
down until he had nailed down first place.
Smith followed close behind. Th-e third
spot belonged to Brett Wvest, while Wayne
Rutledge owned fourth.
Bruce Hoover was up to snuff right at the
start of moto two. His Honda had no match,
and he proudly collected the big one. Woody
gassed across in second, and Rutledge
cleared third, foilowed by Wvest in fourth.
The number-one rider and first over·
all winner in the Over 50 Novice class was
Scott E. Walker. It was certainly apparent he
knew his way around the Complex, and he
found it to his liking. Robert Marchbanks
also found the good iines and racked up both
second spots. John Webb whizzed across the
finish with a pair of third·place finishes.

Checkered Flag Promotions indoor short-track event in Enid, Oklahoma.

always be number one in many people's
hearts.
