f you're not the hardcore sportbike
IJ type looking for the ultimate thrill,
or if you aren't the ultimate poseur
just looking like you're looking for the
ultimate thrill, one of Ducati's new
Supersport bikes may be the bike for
you. Ducati has just redesigned its
entire Supersport range for 2003,
including the 620 Sport, Supersport
800, 800 Sport and Supersport 1000
DS. While in Spain for the launch of
the new 749, we had the chance to
ride three of these four bikes on the
roads around Almeria, Spain, and get
a taste for what they had to offer.

entry-level motorcycle from Ducat!,
and it won't cost you an ann and a leg.
(Below) The Supersport 800, in my
opinion, Is the most balanced and
complete package In the Ducati
Supersport range.

the entire gamut from perfectly
smooth twisty roads to choppy Broads with poor pavement, and, as
some of the guys who can't read
maps discovered, muddy dirt roads.

We set out from our hotel in
Mojacar and headed south in groups
of three so that we could switch off
and sample all of the different Supersport machines. The only bike that
we didn't sample was the 800 Sport
(we rode the Supersport 800). The
first bike that I rode was the 620
Sport, which is basically the same
bike as the 620 Monster that was
released last year - at least as far as
the engine is concerned. Lets face it,
