Scott Elderfleld traveled all the way from the United Kingdom to race the Winter Am Series and t_k the win at round two in the 65cc (7-9) class. and Carsten got the upper hand on Keith. Adams continued his winning ways in the 125cc A class, taking the overall over Jacob Saylor. Saylor took an impressive first-moto win, over Keith. with Adams third. Adams came back with a vengeance in the second moto, taking the win. The two Suzuki riders. Carsten and Gray, finished second and third. Saylor could only muster fourth. Saturday was Adams' day, as he also took an easy win in the 250cc A class with a 2-1 score. Carsten placed second with 3-3 tally, over Keith (1-5). Another rider who likes this track is Ricky Renner. The fast Yamaha rider took wins in the 85cc (12-13) and 85cc Junior Mini (9-13) classes. Renner wrapped up the 85cc (9-13) class for a second week in a row with a 2- 1 score. Dominic Izzi won the first moto but was nowhere to found in the second moto. Colten Maynard followed Renner in both motos for second overall. After a two-week trip from Alaska to make the first round, Ben Lamey used a 4-3 score for third overall. Kyle Keylon from nearby Brooksville took the first 85cc (12-13) moto, and Izzi beat Renner for second. Renner took a great win over lzzi in the second moto, and now the two are tied in points for the series lead. Key- STORV AND PHOTOS BV CRAIG AND ANGELA JOHNSON DADECITY,~JAN.~5 Ilit was one of those weekends where /!lyou're glad you live in Florida or you're glad you're visiting. The weather was beautiful, with temperatures topping out around 70. The track at Dade City Raceway, site of round two of the Florida Winter Am Series, was as tough as ever for the 616 riders who showed up for both days of racing. Two of the top riders on this weekend were Brian Gray and Tyson Hadsell. In Sunday's Pro classes, Gray won the 125cc Pro class and Hadsell was the 250cc Pro victor. Each rider won his first moto and then held on to second the next time out to take the overall. In the first 125cc Pro moto, the previous week's winner, Nick Adams, followed Gray in second, and New England rider Keith Johnson felt right at home on the sand track, taking third. Bryan Johnson took fourth, holding off New Jersey's Barry Carsten. After some first-moto woes, Hadsell recovered in the second moto to take a convincing win. Gray kept ahead of Adams to get second and the overall, while both Johnsons fought over fourth; Keith got the nod over Bryan. After a first-round disaster and a first-moto mishap in the 125cc Pro class on this weekend, the Yamaha four-stroke-mounted Hadsell seemed to have things working right in the first 250cc Pro moto. Hadsell grew up on this track and had things under control, taking the win. Gray and Adams battled for second; Gray beat out the Michigan rider. The two veteran National riders, Keith and Carsten, rounded out the top five. Adams turned up the wick in moto two and took a great win, over Hadsell. Gray watched in third, 32 JANUARY 29. 2003' cue Ion only managed fourth, following Maynard to the line. The Over 25 class ended the weekend with a three-way tie for first in the series. Steve Dumond, Gaylon Dickson and Randy Jackson are all tied at 38 points. Anthony Pocarobba seemed to have things in hand after winning the first round and winning moto one, but disaster struck in moto two, leaving the Yamaha rider on the sidelines. Jackson was second. Matt Karlsen made the trip once again from Colorado to take third. Dickson was fourth, and Fernando Macia rounded out the top five. With Pocarobba out of the way, Karlsen motored away with the mototwo win. Jackson finished runner-up once again, and Dickson moved up to third. Dumond finished ahead of Kevin Cozadd for fourth. Camden Cruz took over the points lead in the 125cc C class. The Chris Cruz Artistry rider earned a 3-1 tally for the overall on the day. Panama's Miguel Villoldo won the first moto but was stuck back in the pack in moto two, only getting 11 tho Joseph Shumaker finished second in both motos. Michael Schwartz moved up to third in moto two after placing fourth in the first moto. There were some other great rides on the weekend, with riders ta king two and three class wins. Josh Lichtle again won the 125cc B, 250cc Band 125cc Youth (12 - 15) classes for the second week in a row. Derek Hall won the 65cc (10-11) and 65cc Open classes. Kyle Meeks won the 85cc (14-15) and Supermini 105cc (12-15) classes. Two other riders who kept their win streaks intact were Dickson, in Tyson Hadsell won the 250cc Pro class at round two of the 32nd annual Florida Winter Am Series in Dade City, Florida.
