Cames took over the lead. At the end of the third lap. Carnes was in first, with Ephraim "F-Dog" Servin in second and Cooke third. The MAC Industries·sponsored Carnes stayed smooth up front and maintained his pace for the remainder to chalk up the win. Suzuki· mounted Wedman eventually worked his way up to second on the seventh lap, and that's where he finished. Honda rider Evan Jessee was third. In the Intermediates, Zac Baxter, riding a Yamaha, put a hurt on the 250cc class. Baxter took the holeshot and never looked back for the 30 minutes of racing. Had he looked back, he would have seen Joey Rodriguez in second and Dana Drake rounding out the top three, both on Suzukis. In the ) 25cc Intermediate class, Yamaha rider Trevor Doniak started well and assumed the lead early. Doniak dropped back a few spots by midway but was able to reclaim the lead a few laps later, where he remained until the finish. Next came a couple of brothers rid· ing KTMs: Tyson Enzweiler finished second, while Travis look third. In Pro action, the All-American Suzukisponsored Billy Jurevich claimed victory in the 250cc class. Jurevich was chased by a newcomer to the Pro class, Mikie Northrop, for the entire 30 minutes, but Northrop didn't get close enough to make a pass attempt and had to settle for second place aboard his YZF. J The Mid-South Youth Championship Series came back to Tennessee with a bang. It turned out to be a challenging and rugged course. on the coldest day the riders have seen this season. These riders proved they were up to the challenge at round five. Off the Pee Wee start, it was Jackson Ward getting the holeshot on a course that was nearly a mile long. Ward was followed by Aaron Plessinger and Trevor Vandiver. Plessinger was able to get around Ward on the third lap for the lead, but he wasn't able to hold it for long. Logan P'Pool managed to work his way from sixth place to third in three laps and was able to hold on to that place until the finish. The top five finishers were Ward. Plessinger, P'Pool, Vandiver and Dylan Majors. The Mini class ran the same course as the Pee Wee class and also found it challenging. Kody Hardin took the lead off the start. The slick hills gave the riders some tough moments. but Hardin was able to hold on to that lead (or the entire race. Rounding out the lOp five were Zachary Nash, Scott Brannon, Austin Jannings and Justin Conner. The Junior A and B course was a more challenging course that was over two miles long. Luke Robinson got the holeshot, followed by Sean Gentry and Jordan Ashburn. There would be several changes in positions throughout the race. The riders found as the temperature warmed a little. the ground became slicker. Gentry moved into first place on the second lap and managed to hold on to first until the end. Gentry was followed by Jacob Patterson, Loupie Lambruno, Josh Zanet and Jordan Ashburn. www.cyclenews.coITl You Can Now Go OnLine with CYCLE NEWS r---------- I ------------------7--~' ....,,~.:l I I • I I I I I For FASTEST service attach mailing label.
