After a successful Saturday scrambles event, everyone was pumped up for a good race. The best action of the day, by far, was the war between two fast 85cc riders ~ the Anglen brothers. In the 85cc A main, Blake Anglen absconded with the holeshot, followed closely by his brother Ben Anglen, Harley Johnson. Tyler Schwentker and Zach Johnson. Only a few comers into the race, lach's bike died; he eventually got it running later in the race. Up front, the two Anglen brothers were in a very heated battle, with nobody else even running close to their lap times. They were by far in a class of their own. Behind them, Harley, Schwentker. Ricky Miranda, and B~main winner Ben Baldasano all contended for third. On lap three, Miranda fell, and Harley got some breathing room. Blake won. with his brother Ben taking second just a bikelength or two back. Harley was a distant third. followed by Schwentker and Baldasano. Devin Harriman nailed the holeshot in the 50cc Open A main, followed by Wyatt Aguirre and Yah Moua. Aguirre and Harriman battled for first. Moua had Ryan Breece and Conner Mitchell to contend with, and on lap four Breece passed Moua for third. Up front, Harriman simply could not shake off Aguirre. Harriman managed to hold out for the win, followed closely by Aguirre, and Breece held off the pack for third. Moua was fourth. and Mitchell finished a hard-earned fifth. In the combined 125cc Pro and Intemnediate race, there were only two Pros and two intermediates. Don Boesplug was first into the corner, but he was also the last out of it, as both he and fellow Pro rider J.R. Vielle stalled their bikes trying to take the inside line. Getting the official holeshot was rookie Intermediate Joshua Johnson, followed by fellow intermediate Jason Laudermilk. The two took off around the track, having a hard time believing they were actually stomping on two nationallevel Pros. But the race was not over. Both Boesplug and Vie lie got their bikes running and took off after the two Intermediates. By halfway, both Pros had passed Laudermilk and had set their sights on Johnson. while still trying to pass each other for the Pro~c1ass victory. With only a few laps to go, both Pros had caught Johnson, but soon they learned he had found some extra fire, and he amazed everybody by continUing to do a good iob of holding them off. On the last lap, Boesplug set himself up for the pass on the single~line cor~ ner after the triple - but Johnson pulled over (for his own and everyone else's safety) and let VielJe by too, so the Pros could race their own race. Boesplug took the Pro~c1ass victory, with Vielle second. Johnson took the Intermediate-class victory, followed by Laudermilk, who also put out a great effort in his rookie Intermediate year.
