Steinfeldt rounded out the top five after nipping Marcus McVay in a photo finish. All the little guys loved the big track, and this opportunity came at a perfect time of the year to see if these kids are ready to make the jump into the 65cc class next season. With 28 riders making up the show, we will probably see more 50cc Auto challenge races at Log Road MX come 2003. Results JRI SR (HAL 1. Jacob Behringer (KTM); 2. NIcholas Yelle (KTM); 3. By lARRY WOOSTER ROCK GLEN, CA, OCT. 12 Silver Springs Racing capped off its 2002 Nite-X season in high Saturday night shootout style. Support Plus Racing provided a brand- new Michelin tire for every feature holeshot winner. Holeshot artists in the Expert classes were rewarded with $50 from the Avon Cycle Joint. The Rock Glen track staff had the NiteX track looking and feeling sweet, as more than 100 riders were primed and ready to rock it out under the big lights. Many Westem New York. Motocross Association riders were competing, and many more were spectators, as this Wyoming County motocross facility played host to their final WNYMA points race the next day. It seems no one told the 125cc Expert class that mota one was valid only for gate choice in the feature mota and as a final highspeed practice session. Aaron Dieter roared out front to claim the holeshot, with Jeff Whaley and Jamie Robinson all over his rear fender. Dieter recently retumed from inking a big arenacross sponsorship deal with one of the nation's largest Suzuki dealers and WliS obviously getting some seat time in with his friends. Dieter registered a dominating motoone effort, cruising to the win, with Whaley and Brandon Kuhn in tow. Paul Doty held on for fourth place, and Mike Silvarole finished strongly with fifth place. Robinson got the Yamaha blues, and his cycle meltdown sent him to the back of the field. With their gate choice now settled, only the holeshot award and feature finishes were left to decide in moto two. Octane junkie Robinson pinned the throttle and tock the holeshot in moto two, and in the process he almost overshot his grocve. Whaley took to the Inside line, and Dieter was shuffled back to the third spot. By tum three, Dieter had busted a move on Whaley and passed him, and he then began reeling in Robinson. Though Robinson looked strong, Dieter set the drag on him and tock the lead just in time to lead lap one. Reloading, Robinson look several shots at getting past Dieter, and both riders set a blistering pace. Kuhn tried to recover from a horrible holeshot but fell trying to pass Doty for fourth place, losing even more ground. Silvarole and Whaley swapped decals at high speed and thrilled the large crowd. Dieter took the feature win, with Robinson settling for second place. Whaley wound up in third, Silvarole worked his way up to a fourth-place finish, and Kuhn recovered in time to take fifth.
