Kilpatrick would also take home the gold
in the 25-29 Novice class after taking both
moto wins from the San Bemardino Police
Department's Devin Peck (3-2) and CHP officer Bruce Tumin, who took fourth after plac·
ing second in mota one for third overall.
Mark Davenport of the U.S. Border Patrol
put his YZ out in front of the 40-49 Expert
class in both motos and never so much as
even looked back to see where second-place
rider Andy Northrop of the LACPD was. Andy
went 2-2, behind Davenport, while Chip Howell of the Alpine Fire Department got the best
of Bishop Police's Steve Day in moto two to
take third overall with his 4-3 score.
LA Port Police Department's Jared Yochim
stole the show in the 1B-24 Beginner class
with a moto-one win, with RCSD's Shawn
Winters in hot pursuit. Mark Wolley of the
Fresno City Fire Department followed the
leaders in third place, with nm Maple of the
Lake Havasu City Fire Department knocking
on the back door. Fellow LHCFD firefighter
Carl Stello brought up the number-five spot,
with LASD officers Daniel and Sean Mahoney
doing their best to break the top five. In moto
two, Yochim received a DNS (and finished
eighth overall), leaving the lead to Winters,
who ran with it. Walley gave chase in second,
while Daniel Mahoney advanced to third for
fourth overall. Maple claimed third overall with
his consistent 4-4 scores, and Stella broke
into the top five in mota one. earning fifth
overall with 5-7 finishes.
CDC's Tim Watt got to the front of the
pack in the Dual Sport class and went on to
take the win from Dan Kimes of the Vemon
Fire Department, in second place. Steve Congalton of the Pomona PD did his best to keep
Kimes close while trying to run from Mesa Fire
Department's Robert Cline, in fourth. In moto
two, Kimes ended up with the win and took
the gold for the overall. Congalton advanced
to second, while Watt finished a disappointing
third after taking the first moto. Cline finished
out the day with a 4-4 score, just shy of a
medal.
Scott Arnold of the Torrance Fire Department swept both motos in the BOcc Adult
class aboard his CRBO to beat the Vemon Fire
Department's Dan Kimes, who went 3-2 for
second. Shawn Fuggs of the Lompoc PD finished in third. behind Kimes, for third overall
while running from Douglas Goff of the USBP
and Pomona PD's Chad Jensen, who finished
out the top five.

Round three of the Fire f, Police Motocross
Nationals kicked off at Perris Raceway. with
the last round of the series scheduled for the
following day. This event has continued to
grow in both participants and sponsorships

The Blackbum brothers from the Anaheim
Police Department continue to keep the competition detained, as Ryan swept both motos
in the 1B-29 Intermediate class while his
brother Josh followed suit in second in both
motos. Berkeley Northrop of the Huntington
Beach Fire Department kept the brothers
honest while running a close third in both
motos. Mark Ellis of the Riverside Police
Department and Alex Olteanu of the Chino
Police Department rounded out the top five in
both motos.
Northrop claimed his second medal of the
day in the 30-39 Intermediate class with a 1-1
score to beat the Las Vegas Police Department's Greg Roselund, who kept Northrop
honest in both motos. Scott Arnold of the Torrance Fire Department did his best to keep an
eye on Roselund while running in third in both
motDs but was unable to advance and took
home a bronze. Roark Griffin of the Escondido
Fire Department worked his way to fourth in
moto two after placing eighth in moto one for
fourth overall, ahead of John Romero (5-7) of
the LAFD.
Coronado's Bryan Powell claimed the win
in moto one of the 35-39 Novice class, with
Mike Kilpatrick of the LAPD hot on his rear
fender. LA Sheriff's Department officer Tom
Smith placed third in moto one while keeping
fellow officer Lyle Raymond and LAPD officer
Dan Hadfield behind him. In moto two, Kilpatrick pulled off the win to take the gold from
Powell, who finished immediately behind the
leader for a second overall worthy of a silver
medal. Although he slipped to fifth in moto
two, Smith still hung in there for third overall,
as Hadfield advanced to fourth for fifth overall.
Fourth overall went to the San Bernardino
Sheriffs Department's Michael Kleczko, who
improved his score to a 6-3 for bronze honors.
