we keep having fun, I think we're
going to be around for a while.
You've now won four GNCC
titles in five years. Did you
expect to have this kind of success
five years ago?
To be completely honest, I
didn't. Five years ago, when
Suzuki told me we were going for the
GNCC Championship, I didn't think I
was young enough to win it even
once! I was 33 years old at the time,
and I didn't think I could do it. But I
figured we could try.
/s the competition getting
tougher?
It is. We had four guys with a
shot at the title at the last race.
And next year, I wouldn't be surprised to see five or six guys up
there. But I'll be ready. I've ridden
the '03 Suzukis, and I'm really happy
with them. We're going to do a lot
more testing and be ready.
Ten years ago you said you
were burnt out on motocross
and you basically retired. You've got
to be happy with the way things
turned out.
Well, motocross taught me not
to treat this like a job. I train
because I want to, not because I
have to, And I have to thank my
wife, Lori. She makes it fun, because
we travel together, and we train
together. When I met her eight years
ago, it made everything new again,
because she had never been to the
races before. So that makes it fun.
