Directions: From Auburn, take Route 38A
South for 8 miles, tum right on Twelve Comers
ROlld, then turn right on Vanderstouw Road.
From Ithaca, take Route 38 North to Locke,
then to Moravia; at four~way stop in Morevia,
turn right on Route 38 North, drive approxi·
mately 6 miles, turn left on Twelve Corners
Road, go north for 3 miles, tum left on Vanderstouw Road.
Platte County Trailriders: Steve Leivan was the overall winner of the 15th round of the
Missouri Hare Scrambles Championship series in Smithville, but by just a hair ahead of
Doug Stone and Brandon Forrester.

Forrester was right there as well as the top
three headed out for the final lap, although he
stopped for fuel just past the check. Up front,
Stone was "rock solid" and had the course
dialed. Leivan was also hard on the gas,
searching for an opportunity that would allow
him to overtake his friend and competitor.
Forrester had pulled all1f1e stops and was on
a mission as weD.
More than half a lap had passed, and
Stone waS still performing flawlessly and holding Leivan at bay. Then Stone missed an alter·
nate line that had formed through a particularly tight and rocky section of trail, giving
Leivan the opening he'd been looking for. The
General Admission Rates: $8 for all riders and
everyone 12 and older; $4 for all spectators
age 1] and under.

designed to be safe and challenging for all skill
levels. We want to help riders Improve their skill
levels and to have a positive racing experience
without getting injured. We also want the
events to be fun! Thanks to the Increasing number of sponsors, we are able to give away more
prizes to more riders every year. There are also
door prizes for all of lhe spectators who come to
watch the exciting race events."
