After watching Ricky Carmichael and Chad Reed battle at the U.S. Open, I must say the 2003 Supercross season should be an entertaining one. Friday night's race was a throwback to the good old days of bar banging and block-pass racing. Reed sure looks to have the speed to keep Ricky honest. Mike laRocco was a fitting winner, and how cool was it to see him win $ 100,000 for his two-night effort? It takes a lot to get Mike to smile, and let's just say with a $100,000 check in his hand he was grinning ear to ear. How cool. The 80cc class is always a good race. Mike Alessi and Ryan Villopoto were lightning fast. We should be watching these two battle for years to come. If racing is about the fans, then this is the best race of the season. The Open is one of the best races on the calendar and the ability to talk with the riders is unparalleled. No where else will you see kids with every autograph they were looking for. Mix Las Vegas and dirt bikes and it's all good. The 2003 Supercross season sure looks like one to watch. Johnnllman Rochester, WA Hoess Thanks This year's ISDE in the Czech Republic was one that will be remembered for a long time to come. For me, it was truly a great experience. Being part of the American team does not come easy and it is something that cannot be accomplished alone. Many hard hours of training and qualifying here in the states is just the beginning to one of the world's toughest races. This year was especially brutal with the freezing temperatures, rain and mud, combined with the tough time schedules and difficult special tests, and Policie with picture radar everywherel They weren't making it easy for anyone.
