Producers have constructed a portion of a supercross track in San Pedro, Califomia, and have begun the supercross action that will be featured in the film. Although they only need eight minutes of footage, the shoot is slated to last for three weeks. Multi-time AMA 250cc Grand Prix champion Rich Oliver recently made his National dirt track debut when he competed in the Formula USA Sacramento Mile on September 15. Oliver barely made the cut from practice and he ended up qualifying 49th out of the 62rider field. And he even crashed. Oliver snuck into the field of 48 when .. rider scratched. He then finished 14th in his heat before finishing 16th in his sernJ and not making the main event. "I really want to thank Bob Hill and Mearl Bamett for their sponsorship, as well as Gary and Pat from Wilson's in Fresno," Oliver said later. "Also thanks to Clear Channel Entertainment, A [, A racing, Buchanan's, VP fuel, Afam, Shoei, Kushitiani, Undemann Engineering and my mechanic Robert Ward. Terry Poovey helped me figure out my speed wobble problems and Jennifer Snyder even took time out to say hi. It was cool to be out there, I had a great time, but I've got to get more seat time and a bit more power to get further up in the field. By the end of the semi, I was getting off tum two a lot better, but I just ran out of time to get much faster anywhere else." By ALAN CATHCART • • Mondial: No Nuda, but Vor?
