Brad Jones started second, with Paul Dipasquale third. Jones passed Dillingham on the uphill ski jump and led for the next two laps. Jones crashed on a small log jump and Dillingham took over the lead. Ralph Gending picked off riders every lap. Gending took over the lead at the hour-and-a-half mark and pulled away for the win. Tom Ohio International Raceway Shay Snags OIR Pro Win By Roa PETRAS RAVENNA, OH, AUG. 18 Journeyman motocrosser John Shay still has plenty of skills to master a motocross course. He looked very impressive aboard his Yamaha as he took not only the Senior One (Over 30) division victory but also the Heavyweight Pro-class win! Shay. a former Pro-level racer, won four motes lind kept Honda riders Greg Hudak and Mike Howell at bay as he pulled both holeshots in the Pro class. Hudak. on an Andre:ws Honda/Davidson Construction! MSR/Renthal/SCS Racing Decals CR250, stayed within striking distance but couldn't close the two- to four-second gap betwee:n them. He went 2-2 for second overall. Howell had bad starts in both motos but put in two inspiring rides through the pack to finish 3-3. Finishing runner-up in Senior One was KTMmounted Jeff Johnson (2-3). Third overall went to Honda rider Ray Vagarasoto, who posted 3-4 results. With more than 30 riders in the: class, the racing was close and provided some of the best action of the day. Jimmy Berg topped the 125cc B class, going 1-1 on his Yamaha. Keeping him honest in both motos was Honda-mounted Josh Kompa, with 2-2 finishes. Third overall w.s KawlIsaki jockey Scoll Gamek. As the 29 riders left the gate for the first 125cc C moto, Pennsylvania rider Chris Zedreck, on an RM 125, absconded with the holeshot. He would only hold the point for half a IlIp, 115 young Billy Shay, John's son, took the lead over the large tabletop jump on his Yamllha. Moving up fast were Jason Hutton and Kris Kaletz, both on Yamahas. Billy held. f.st p.ce .nd WIIS never headed. Finishing • behind him were Hullon, Kaletz lind Suzuki jockey Seth Harmon. Zedreck faded b.ck to sixth. Hullon hammered the start of moto two to nail down the holeshot, but it WIIS short-lived, as Kllietz took over the lead before the end of the first lap. Going down in a pile-up in tum two WIIS first-moto winner Shlly. He picked himself up in dead Illst lind b.ttled bllck to 10th. Out front, it WIIS Kllietz taking the win lind the overall with a 3-1 tally. Second overall WIIS Hullon, with a 2-2 effort. Third overllll was Suzuki-mounted Scoll Schindler, who went 5-3. Harmon (4-4) was fourth overall. Suzuki pilot Ryan Boyer continues to improve. He took two overall victories, domjnating the Supermini class with a solid 1-1 performance. OIR regular Chris Carr, on a Kawasaki, was runner-up with consistent 2-3 finishes. Boyer got the holeshot in the first Senior Mini moto but fell bllck to fifth 115 the first lap ended. Yamaha-mounted Evan Gutshall took over the lead but then threw it away as he slid out on the front downhill. Yamaha rider David Eme inherited the lead lind kept it to the finish.
