After wat ing Yamaha steal the limelight with eir YZ250F, it's fmally here· the CR 250R. Well, it's kind of here - look at he photos and enjoy, because the bl e is a 2004 model and won't be av i1able until late summer 2003. In ad ition, there will be an electric-start 0 -road version called the CRF250X, who h will be released at the same time. We don't know too much else, but here are the specifications we have so far. Powered by a fuel-injected, 1832cc motor, based on the GL 1800, stump-pulling torque should be far more than adequate. The exhaust is a heavily stylized six-into-two system straight off of the Bat Mobile. In addition, the bike has huge disc brakes, which are the largest Honda has ever put on a production motorcycle. With styling straight out of a comic·book superhero's garage, attention shouldn't be hard to find on this low-slung steed. 2004 VfX1300C The VTX1300C is based on the VTX1300, which was released in 2002 as an earlyrelease 2003 model, except Honda combined that model with the hot-rod styling from the VTX1800C to create this custom-looking cruiser. The VTX1300C will be available in Black, Pearl Orange, Candy Red, and Illusion Blue. The MSRP is $8999, and it will be available in summer 2003. Ruckus Remember those Briggs & Stratton-powered, fat-wheeled mini bikes you used to tear around on? If Honda's new Ruckus scooter doesn't remind you of those days, I don't know what will. The 49cc, OHC, liqUid-cooled four-stroke engine should prOVide plenty of power for ripping around the neighborhood, or the campsite. This bare-bones scooter has fat offroad tires, a single-sided swingarm, and an aluminum frame. The Ruckus only weighs 181 pounds, and has a low 29.1-inch seat height. It is available in two colors: Red, and Black. The MSRP is $1899. • u .... • • SEPTEMBER 25.2002 35
