Los Angeles County Raceway It's All Carrillo atCRC MX BY GREG ROBERTSON PALMDALE,CA,AUG.24 Chris Carrillo turned a couple of good starts into a two·moto sweep of the 65cc Beginner class during the Tru Tee-sponsored round of California Racing Club's Saturday night motocross, held at Los Angeies County Raceway_ Carrillo qUickly made his way to the front of the pack in moto one to lead Shane Emerson, Kyle Prince and Tyier Cabral. The moto was all Carrillo's, as he continued on uncon· tested for the win. Prince and Cabral were both around Emerson by lap two and would hash it out over second place for the remainder of the moto, with Prince keeping Cabral at bay. Emerson crossed the line for a fourth· place finish a safe distance ahead of Dalton Zahrt and Taylor Farner. Carrillo pulled off another excellent start in moto two, with Zahrt and Cabral giving chase. Carrillo tried to disappear, but Cabral had other plans and would keep him honest throughout the race to make Carrillo work for the win. Cabral's runner~up finish earned him the second~place trophy. Zahrt's strong second-moto showing on a 5-3 tally topped the 4-4 score of Emerson and the 2-6 efforts of Prince for third overall. Daniel Hendrix came out smoking in the opening 125cc Novice moto and went wire to wire for the win_ Brett Moscrop held down second place before Scott Mumford took over the position for good on lap two. Ricky Barger slipped past Moscrop at the midway point to finish an eventual third, and Lester Varnum rounded out the top five_ Moscrop absconded with the holeshot in moto two, but by lap two it was Hendrix out front and pulling away. Hendrix went 1-1 on the night, with Moscrop's 4-2 performances claiming second overall in the standings. Third went to Varnum (5-3), followed by Barger (3-7) and Colby Dawson (6-6). egcte nJlWIl [):=c} (*8G)~(=e ~ Now Available Through Cycle News Video Theater .. 2DD1 MOUIGP 50Q Seri..s Review ..
