Cobb had the fans on their feet with a spectacular wheelie off the start. Going into tum one, it was Steffen, Jimmy Wood and Rosa. As Jimmy Wood worked on Steffen, Rosa was running down low, trying to get that CRF450R to tum. On lap three, Jimmy Wood found the horsepower needed to pass Steffen and then set sail for the win again. Back in the pack, Foulds was making great time after a terrible start, passing riders one by one and finally working his way up to fourth and holding off Cobb at the checkers. Grays Harbor County Fairgrounds SCOTT CUNNINGHAM Hawk Rules the Roost By SAM IiAt.BERT ELMA, WA, AUG. 24 At the Elma three-eigAths-mile dirt-track event, Kurt Hawk got the holeshot at the start of the Open Money main event, followed by Jethro Halbert and Derick Oquist. While Sam Halbert was making his way through the pack, passing Oqujst on the second lap and Jethro on the third, Hawk put about half a straight between himself il'nd the pack, but Sam put his head down and started to reel in the leader. By the eighth lap, Sam was all over Hawk, but he couldn't make a pass. Then they started going through lapped traffic, and when Hawk slowed for a lappeT, Sam nailed Hawk in the back and went down hard, ending the race. HZlwk came away with the win, Jethro took second and Oquist was third. In the 450cc Money class, Tyler Anderson seized the holeshot. followed by Larry Ward and Eli Price. On lap one, Price made it past Ward and then went on to pass Anderson and run away with the win. Anderson held on to second, and Steve Liberty made his way through the pack for third. Jethro got the holeshot in the Expert/Pro Sport main event, followed by Hawk and Kyie Ragsdale. Hawk made it past Jethro for the win, and Liberty once again came from the back to take third. In the Over 40 class, it seemed like Vince Holt was going to pull off another runaway win . until Californian Steve Hall came charging through the pack, caught up to Holt and had a good battle with him throughout the final laps. However, but Holt was able to hold on to a very close victory over Hall, and Steve Power trailed in their wake. Brad Baker was one of the select few double-race winners, taking a victory in the 85ec Modified class ahead of his brother Scott Baker and Chris Williams. Brad was also victorious in the 85cc DTX class, coming out once again ahead of Scott. but this time Jacob Lehman rounded out the top three. CN Results 50 BEG: I, Jeremy lehman; 2.
