the win without much of a battle. As for
Durbin and McAdams, they battled until the
white-flag lap, when McAdams seemed to lose
energy and let Durbin take second place.

Riders attending race six of the 10-race MRA
series were, as is typical for Colorado, greeted
with perfect weather at the 2.2-mile Puebio
roadcourse. The track has a half-mile front
straight, and several high-speed, elevationchanging corners that reward high horsepower
and unabashed bravado.
Dean Del Turco has been dominating the
Amateur GTU class, but this weekend Jeff
Grace was out to spoil Del Turco's glory. Del
Turco shot off the front down the straightaway
to lead the 15-bike pack into turn one. On the
first pass across the start/finish line, Grace
had gotten around Del Turco, but only by
about 10 feet. The front straight at Pueblo is
an excellent drafting section where smaller·
displacement bikes can slingshot past each

Pacific Northwest riders made their presence
known at the 123rd annual Rooks County
Free Fair, presented by the National Flat
Track Racing Association. Washington's Tyler
Anderson ran away with wins in the Open
Amateur and 250cc/505cc Amateur races.
Fourteen-year-old Sam Halbert won the Modem Open Pro class after a battle with fellow
Washingtonian Scooter Vernon. Sam's brother
Jethro Halbert appeared to have the 505cc
Pro Sport race won, but with two iaps to go he
suffered mechanical problems and didn't finI
