Kevin Lacombe (Hon) dominated the
final round of the Parts Canada Superbike
Championship at Shannonville Motorsport Park on September 1. Lacombe
grabbed the holeshot at the start of the
15-lap race and was never challenged en
route to his first-ever National Superbike
win. Owen Weichel (Kaw) finished second, with outgoing class champion
Steve Crevier (Hon) taking third. Jordan Szoke had already clinched the Parts
Canada Superbike crown, but he saw his
bid for a record sixth straight race win
end when he crashed unhurt on lap five
while running third. In other action at
Shannonville, Francis Martin claimed
the International Motorcycle Supers how
Open Sport Bike title with a sixth-place
finish in the feature race. He edged Clint
McBain and Jean-Francois Cyr, who
placed fourth and third, respectively.
Frank Trombino (Hon) won the race.
McBain clinched the Yoshimura 600
Sport Bike title with a sixth-place finish at
Shannonville. He was assured the crown
when Lacombe crashed on lap two. The
race win went to Weichel, with Ugo Levert second and Szoke third.
