"lammy" went 12-14 on the day for 11th overall. "ActuaJly, my day wasn't too bad, considering I haven't come out of the last two weekends with any points. First moto was good until I pumped up. I was running like eighth, and then dropped off the pace a little bit. I wound up 12th. which was all right. The second mota, I got a bad start, was back in the 30s I think. I worked my way up to 14th, reeling guys in, but then had nowhere to go after that. It was over." "The first mota, however, didn't go as well. I got tangled up a couple times and didn't have the strength to race back. I pulled off early and saved it for the second mota. But, unfortunately, I had a bad start and got pushed into the mud on the outside. I charged up through the pack a bit and got up to 23rd, which was all right. The track was tough, kind of hard to pass on and a little deceiving in that it was a lot more slippery than it looked. From Glen Helen on, fans can always rely on some highlights from Lewis, and Binghamton was no exception. "The first mota went all right. I got a good start, but it took a while to get into a groove. Got passed by a few guys, but then got back to sixth, then fifth when Lusk went down. I'll take that. The second mota, I got a descent start, then fell over and [Sebastien] Tortelli hit me, bent my brake lever undemeath my footpeg, and I had to ride a little funky just not to hit it [the brake lever]." YIctoIy ties him with Bob Hannah for the all"tlme 250cc ouidoor win record. In his first race on the new CRF450R, Florida's Jason Thomas came off the track just beaming. It was certainly one of his best efforts on the year, after finishiong ninth overaH with 13-11 mota finishes. "In the first mota, I had about a 15th-place start; I think I spun off the gate. Some people got by me, then I started passing some people and a lot of guys fell. I was pretty happy because this was my first race on the 450. In the second mota, I got a better start and battled with [Nick] Wey for a while, then I was battling with [Tim] Ferry and finally passed him but crashed, and he got back by. I'm really happy with the 450." I7®cD Blair Morgan Fresh off a runner-up position to Jean-Sebastien Roy in the Canadian Nationals, the world's top snocross racer and Winter X Games gold medalist Blair Morgan showed he's got the goods to run with the pack in the States after going 9-35 for 15th overall. "In the first mota, I had a good start, about 10th or II tho I just rode hard and caught Lusk, but I couldn't get by. This track was hard to pass on. In the second mota, I had a bad start and just worked my way through the pack and caught up to [Kyle] Lewis, and then endoed right before the tabletop in the back. I tweaked my back pretty good and just pulled off.' 11 €J Tun Ferry Yamaha's Tim Ferry, who holds down second place in the series standings, did not have one of his better days at Binghamton. He struggled in both matos, finishing 14-18 on the day for 18th overall. His off day at Broome-Tioga will put a little more pressure on him at the final rounds, as he now holds a significantly smaller 16-point lead over Ezra Lusk. 10 SEPTEMBER 4,2002' cue I e n e _ s
