AMAIChevy Trucks U. S. Motocross Championship Series
Round 10: Spring Creek MX Park
track just happens to be Carmichael's
favorite on the circuit, so the chances
of getting trounced again by the
defending 250cc National MX Champion was about as likely as the sun
rising in the morning.
The only shred of hope that
Carmichael's competitors had of
beating the Honda rider at Spring
Creek would've required some help
from Mother Nature. Perhaps some
rain and a muddy track might even
the playing field a little bit, but come
race morning, there wasn't a cloud in
the sky and temperatures never got
any higher than about 75 degrees perfect conditions for racing. So, you
might say that all of the ingredients
were there for another Carmichael
thrashing.
(Left) Three-peat: With four motos stili
to run, and 100 points still available,
Ricky Cannichael is rewriting history
again, as he clinched the 2002 250cc
National Motocross Championship
after his 2oth(!) consecutive moto win.
It was Honda's first 250cc National
MX title since Jeremy McGrath did the
deed in 1995.
(Below) The start of moto two looked
like this: Nathan Ramsey (25) leading
John Dowd (16), Cannichael(4),
Timmy Ferry (15), Sebastien Tortelll
(13) and the rest of the field.

all 18 motos, and if these things
weren't bad enough, the Spring Creek
