Jason Chacna (taM); Caradori Rocks Rock Glen Twenty-seven 60cc to 65cc Mini riders were loaded up on the concrete launching pad, awaiting liftoff. In a green sea of 21 Kawasakis, two KTMs stood out like beacons. Jake Eddy and eanado's very own Tyler Rayner avoided an international incident through the holeshot comer, powering their Kawasakis out front, fast and furious. Myles earadQfi got on the gas, passing fellow KTM bandito Dina Scrivani for third. "Fast and ultrasmooth" was Eddy's plan on this familiar track, as he hoped to lose earadori and the other riders in lapped traffic. Eddy enjoyed the lead for several laps while earadori moved past Rayner and was soon reeling in the leader. Weaving through lappers, both Eddy and earadori looked hungry for this win. earadori claimed the lead late in the mota and hung on for the win in mota one. Eddy settled for second place and looked like the favorite contender to defeat Caradori in mota two. Rayner is always a contender in this class, and Ethan Rowland would be a factor if only he could improve his start somewhat. Kawasaki madman Tyler Evinsky got the jump on Rayner, earadori and Eddy to claim the mota-two holeshot. earadori slid past Rayner, while Evinsky was looking to extend his lead big-time. While Evinsky railed the outside lines with reckless abandon, earadori was smooth and calculating, quickly catching the leader. earadori now found himself looking high and low for a way around the leader as Evinsky swapped inside and outside grooves. As Evinsky set up for an inside~line comer, Caradori made a block-pass and stole his groove. earadori pinned the throttle and made the pass stick like peanut butter to bread. Rayner quickly began to duel it out with EVinsky side by side, as earadori was now looking to extend his lead. On the long back section of the trock, Rayner moved his groove to the new tune of the second-running spot. Midmoto, Evinsky's lap time increased as he showed signs of tiring. Rayner tried to make up precious time by sailing through lapped ROCK GLEN, NY, JULY 21 Nearly 400 WNYMA riders got on their bad motorscooters and competed at Silver Springs Racing for round 16. With riders constantly eyeing the point standings for the WNYMA Scott USA/Ma~ima Racing Oils Summer Series Awards, the motocross action was sure to heat up along with the summer temperatures. On a weekend when many riders were tom between attending the Amateur Summer Classic race at Unadilla or competing some· place locally, Aaron Dieter enjoyed the best of both worlds: Dieter won both motos in the 250cc Expert Division One class and both the 125cc Expert motos, takjng two first-overall finishes on Friday and Saturday at Unadilla, and then the "Thrilla from 'DilIa" loaded up the bikes and headed straight back to westem New York to compete on Saturday night at the Silver Springs Nite-X event and on Sunday for the WNYMA points race. Dieter dominated the Wyoming County weekend motorcycle races by winning six of the eight motos in which he competed. The only thing that slowed him down Saturday night was when he stalled the 125cc Yamaha down in a tight corner and couldn't get it going for what seemed like an eternity. Then, on Sunday, Brandon Kuhn got the best of Dieter by posting 2-1 finishes to claim first overall in the 125cc Expert class over Dieter's 1-2 mota efforts. All in all, Dieter was on top of the world and in orbit on his new Honda four-straker. This is one long motocross track, with lots of jumps suitable for every level of rider from Beginner to Pro. Jessey Milley designed both Silver Springs Racing tracks and Batavia Motocross Park's track in Genesee County. There isn't much Jesse can't do with a 'dozer and a tape measure, as he has the riding experience to know what will and won't work. In a world of angles and pitches, clay and rocks, step-ups and fly-offs, off-camber corners and fast curves, Milley has this trackdesign business down to a science. 58 AUGUST 21, 2002' cue I • traffic, and he soon caught Caradori for yet another battle. Caradori moved inside and out, effectively blocking every move Rayner had planned before he could even execute them. earadori hung on to the lead and took first overall with a 1-1 tally. Rayner (3-2) claimed second overall. Eddy (2-3) did well, snagging third overall, while Ethan Rowland (4-4) was the silent contender constantly gunning for him.
