Bernie Schreiber tops the list of most wins, having won it eight times, while this year's runner·up Geoff Aaron holds three ETdE titles. Although Bell's win may not have been a surprise, the manner in which he won it was. The usually reserved Bell rode with an uncharacteristic flare and abandon, getting big air and going for bold lines. "I changed a lot of things personally with the way I ride and the way I was training," said Bell. "I tried to hav'e a little more fun. We also changed a of of things with the team with the minders and the organiza· tion. So far, it has worked out for us." The "New Bell" even sported a smile in a few sections and showed his emotion after the event by riding a "tail·dragger" down the road from the exhibition sections to the pit area. Something the "Old Bell" probably wouldn't have done. CN Donner SId Ilanc:h Tnacfte, Califoni. Results: August 3-4, 2002 C'SHIP: I. Ryon Bell (8); 2. Geoff ""ron (19): 3. Wilson Crtlig (28); 4.
