Bersano retired his Suzuki from the battle shortly after the two-hour mark, leaving Parlin and Tudethout out front. Parlin steadily pulled away for the win, with Tudethout earning a career-best second overall. Parlin made sure to express his gratitude to Luca at the awards presentation. "This should show you what kind of riders we have here in Michigan," Parlin said ... , mean, the guy lLuca) and I will be competing against each other in future races, but today he helped me out. I can't thank him enough for letting me use his bike." Third overall went to Corey Calkins, who rode extremely well, despite this being his first race back after an injury-induced layoff. Fourth overall went to fellow Expert rider Steve Willey, who kept his Kawasaki charging through the dust. David Allen Racing's Clint Hammerle earned the Over 3D-class victory and placed fifth overall on the day. Fellow Over 30-c1ass competitor Mark Spore rode his Shawmut Hills-sponsored Yamaha to sixth overall, earning second in the class, behind Hammerle. Expert competitor Robbie Cribbs was the next rider through scoring, earning the S&S Cycle-sponsored rider seventh overall. The race for first in the Heavy Team ~Iass went to Eddie Keen and Ron Balzer, as the two Honda pilots have been staying consistent in their quest to defend last year's championship. Scoring second on the day was the team of Vic Flegel and Brian Marr, who appeared to have finally rebounded from the string of bad luck that has plagued the duo thus far this season. Flegel and Marr came through scoring a mere nine seconds ahead of the third-placed team, Gerrit Powell and Tim Beougher, who competed on a Suzuki.
