T he last time that Ricky Carmichael
• lost a National motocross overall
was 364 days ago at the 2001
Washougal round, where Team Suzuki's Kevin Windham bested him in a
straight-up battle. What a difference a
year makes. Carmichael has since
switched from Chevy Trucks Kawasaki to Honda; an injured Windham has
been absent from the racing scene for
what seems like forever; and the
notion of anyone at all defeating
Carmichael in a straight-up fight is
almost laughable.
On this year's tour-visit to the
Pacific Northwest, there was no beating Carmichael, who - as he has done
breaking records nearly every week-
