side with him at the finish; Sephton and Lazor moved on to the main. In the Scratch main, Sephton fell out of the first corner, causing a restart. Then Sephton broke the tapes on the restart, sending himself back 20 yards. Coming off the first corner, Robinson and Krips got together, sending Krips down hard and dislocating his shoulder. Krips didn't want to quit, so someone popped his shouider back in and he went back up to the line for the start! Off the (final) start, Lazor took the lead and never looked back. Robinson chased Lazor but couldn't catch him, and a very happy Lazor took the win. In Support A racing, Merle Craven won all the heats. Young gun Chip Lengle tried hard all night, getting by Craven in the last heat, but Craven got right back by him. It was good to see Jay "The Stingray" Stalma back racing in Support A. In the main event, Chris Smith took the holeshot. Alex Heath spun out in two, allowing Craven and Lengle to go after Smith. Craveo made up some ground, but then, on the last lap, coming out of last corner, Craven gave it all he had and just got by Smith, winning by mere inches. Bob Bruzek won the first heat race in the Support B class. Bruzek is one of the most consistent riders on the track, sticking to the inside, holding his line. Bruzek has been riding great this year, and his consistent riding paid off on this night. Bruzek wasn't even on his own bike; he was riding fellow competitor Carl Van Hom's bike. It proved to be a good one, because Bruzek took the checkers. Danny Easley won his second main in three weeks in the Youth Division One finale. Local speedster PaLlI "Fireball" Johnson took the honors in the Youth Division Two main, ahead of Bruce Bast, and HLlnter Morris ended Ronnie Woodsford's two-week win streak in the Youth Division Three trophy race. Club Moto Womack's Battle, Bradshaw's War By RANDY HElM LIVERMORE, CA, JUNE 28 ROLlnd fOLlr of the Hot SLlmmer Night Series at CILlb Moto marked the halfway point of the series, and the points battles are tightening. In eocc Novice action, moto wins were split by Marcus Bradshaw and Stenson Wom· ack. In moto one, Honda rider Bradshaw got out front early, followed by Womack, Cody Lambott and Chris Simoni. Bradshaw was riding strong up front, while Womack and Lambott were dicing for second. On lap three, Lambett moved his Kawasaki past Womack's Yamaha to secure second. Womack kept Lambott in his sights but was unable to retake the position. Bradshaw crossed the line first. Lambott second, Womack third, and Yamahamounted Simoni fourth. Moto two was all Wom.ck's. He led the race from start to finish. Bradshaw kept Wom· ack honest but had to settle for second. Simoni fared better this moto, finishing third. Womack won this battle but lost the war. Bradshaw's 1-2 tally was good enough for first overall, with Womack's 3-1 score taking second. Third overall went to Simoni (4-3). Concord's Ryan Connors was this week's eocc Beginner winner. The first moto went to Honda-mounted Dylan Lane, who rode aggressively and led from start to finish. Connors finished second after passing fellow Yamaha rider Matt Bell, who finished third. The moto-two holeshot went to Honda rider Jeff Welker from Los Banos. Welker looked good for the two laps that he led but succumbed to the pressure on lap three. Connors started in fourth but passed Welker on lap three and motored on to the win. Lane made a last-lap pass on Welker for second, and Welker remained in third. Connors took the overall with a 2-1 tally, Lane (1-2) scored second, and Welker (5-3) rounded out the top three. Both 125cc and 250cc Beginner classes were won by Yamaha pilot Casey Kiernan of San Pablo. Kieman transferred into the 125cc Beginner class' first division by winning the first second-division moto. Kiernan once again pulled off a win when the gate dropped for moto two for the first division. Kiernan is on the fast track to the Novice class. Second and third overall in the 125cc division went to Honda riders Aaron Uere and Anthony Gonzales. The 250cc Beginner honors went to Kiernan (1-1); second was Frank Lane (2-2) and third went to Jeremy Johnson (4-3). This week's Mini Dash For Cash was won by Suzuki speedster Luke Layton. The big-bike Dash For Cash tumed out to be the best race of the night. Intermediate Yamaha rider Mike Newnham had been chasing Novice Suzuki rider Brian Brockman the entire race. With the staggered start, it was difficult for Newnham to make up the gap in just four laps, but Newnham inched his way forward each lap until he was on Brockman's fender going into the final lap. Through the last turn, with about 50 feet remaining until the checkered flag, Newnham squeaked by Brockman for the win in a dramatic finish that had the crowd cheering. Results 50 (0·6): 1. Cook and George Lazor scored victories in Division One. In the Handicap main, Cook came from the back to take first on the outside, eventually passing Gene Bonsignore for the lead. Jeremy Parsons also got around Bonsignore. Parsons then held Cook on the outside, but Cook got far enough ahead to get back on the inside and win the race. The Scratch racing was exciting, with Califomians Cook and Bobby Krips in town. In the first heat, a very fast Parsons could not be caught by Krips. Tom "The Gator" Sephton won his Scratch heat, with Mikey Robinson right behind him. Lazor won the third heat. Over Cook. Parsons broke the tape in the first semi and was sent back 20 yards; Cook took the lead early and held it to the end, and Robinson got second, holding off Parsons.
