At Laguna Seca, Michelin showed who's really dominating the tire war in racing. W"rth only
three riders in agrid of 29, Michelin· swept the podium in race one, as Ducati's Troy Bayliss
took the checkers. Then Honda's Colin Edwards led Bayliss home in race two. after setting
anew lap record in Qualifying that was astartling 1.3 seconds faster than the old one.
Laguna Seta was no fluke, either: Michelin· has won 17 of 18 World Superbike races this
season, and Bayliss and Edwards have left the rest behind in the championship standings.
