Hicks collided and went down, but Brant recovered to win the restart over Josh Larsen, Hicks and Shaun Harmatiuk. Promoter Dukie Ermolenko finished off the round with a win over Bobby Krips, John DeFries and Jeff Blaydes. Round two began with Brant leading all the way over McConnell, Krips and Sauer. Larsen and Castro rode away from DeFries and McCurdy in the next heat. Kerr won the next heat over Hicks, Blaydes and Martynse. Ermolenko narrowly defeated Swartz, Harmatiuk and Benjamin. Castro opened up round three with a win over Ermolenko and McConnell; Hicks pulled out of contention for the night due to injury. Sauer won the next heat over Ha'rmatiuk, Blaydes and McCurdy. Brant easily defeated Kerr. Schwartz and DeFries. Finishing out round three, Larsen dispatched Krips, Benjamin and Martynse. In the second try at the opening heat of round four, McConnell won over Martynse. Harmatiuk and DeFries. Krips won the next heat, over Schwartz and McCurdy. Larsen then defeated Ermolenko, Kerr and Sauer. Brant finished out the round with a win over Castro. Blaydes and Benjamin. At this point, Larsen had II of a possible 12 points. Nipping at his heels were Brant, Castro and Ermolenko, all with 10 points. Kerr, who had nine, and Krips and McConnell, each with eight, still had a shot at the top four. Larsen opened round five with a win over McConnell, Schwartz and Blaydes, giving him 14 points and making him the top qualifier for the Shootout. Brant then defeated Ermolenko, Martynse and McCurdy. Castro beat Krips, Kerr and Harmatiuk. Sauer triumphed over DeFries and Benjamin to end the qualifying heats. The final points tally had Larsen on top, with Brant and Castro tied for second with 13 points each. Ermolenko's 12 points gave him the final spot in the Shootout. At the start of the final, Castro and Brant made contact and Brant went down, bringing out the red flag. On the restart, Castro got the holeshot, but Larsen hounded him until the beginning of the final lap, when he squeezed by, but Castro fought back and repassed Larsen around the outside of the final tum to take the popular victory over Larsen and Brant, while Ermolenko pulled out with a sick bike.
