Honda Hills Motorsporls Park Biddies Brave at Honda Hills MX BY RUPERT X. PELLETT LINVILLE, OH, JUNE 14 At round three of the Honda Hills Friday Night Series, the father-and-son squad of Richard "Dick" Biddle and Eric "E-Dog" Biddle tore up the rolling hills and high banks of the famed motocross circuit, each taking both a win and a runner-up in their respective classes. Dad Dick did his work in the Over 40 and the Open classes, whisking his YZ426F in for the one-moto-format win in the elderly gentlemen's class and taking a back seat to Aaron Madinger and his Buckeye Powersports' CR450F in the Open class. Patrick Provencher, Kris Higdon and Casey Tobias were giving chase. Geib kept the heat on and pretty soon only Provencher was keeping him in sight. When race one closed, Geib had the win, with Provencher and Tobias trailing. Making a bid for the overall, Provencher exploded off the line to lead race two. Geib wasn't haVing any of that, though, and he n e _ os that regularly race at the NOMADs venue. Stuckey imposed a handicap on himself for the start of both motos and allowed the entire class to start and get around the first sweeping turn and into the first, tight, hairpin corner before he left the start line. He then proceeded to catch and pass the entire field of respected Amateur racers. At the end of the first lap of each six-lap moto, he would be in the third position. At the end of the second lap, he'd be in first place, with a commanding lead. Over the next four laps, Stuckey would literally "pilot" his Honda CR250 to a huge lead. The NOMADs track is filled with jumps, bumps and depressions to test the riders' skills. Stuckey made these many obstacles on the track look easy by using the first jump or bump in the straightaways to leap over most of the remaining obstacles, and then using the backward slope of one of the last obstacles as a landing ramp. He would often land in the middle of the jumps, bumps or depressions briefly then jump out and over the next set of I obstacles, "leapfrogging" down the straights. Many of the faster racers at NOMADs do this, but no one did it as often, further, higher, or as consistently as Stuckey did on this Sunday. "Yeah, Stuckey's fast, but that's because he only rides on half the track," noted one spectator in the viewing stands. referring to how often Stuckey was in the air, avoiding the track obstacles. As Stuckey bounced around the track for the easy win in both motos on his way to the first-overall finish, a tight race for second place continued behind him. Developing Amateur Randy Fuller passed Bill Bodello on the third lap and held him off to the end of moto one for a close second-place finish. In moto two, it was Bodello's turn to hold off Fuller, who hounded Bodello relentlessly until the last lap, when Fuller briefly got around on the inside of him, two corners from the finish. Bodello, however, would not let Fuller keep the spot, and he returned the pass in the last ahead of Derek Rogers and Andrew Iovino. unbeatable, besting all competitors in the 80cc (7-11) and 65cc classes, with double 50 BEG: 1.
