"The big bike just flies," Libhart said, "but it's hard to see where the timers are up there, because you are going so fast.· Watson was up next. "Dad put a new fuel pump on the 800, and changed the jetting," Watson said. "The 540 is running a lot faster than the 800 for some reason.· Watson lined up on the far right side and let it rip. After a great launch, Watson's bike hit the rev-limiter after the canyon jump, but he was awesome everywhere and stunned the competition with a 5.506-second time. "It ran good - it floated the valves because we were geared a little low, but it turned out great,· Watson said. Strank tried to regain the top spot, and had an excellent start. However, it went bad at the 270-foot mark when it nearly looped him out, and he had to shut it down. He would finish fourth. Large had a few minor problems, improving to sixth with a 6.077-second run. Then Disbennett made his final run. Disbennett lined it up in the far right rut and really nailed the start. The clutch held together and the bike pulled strong all the way to the lights. He kept the Triumph in the groove to climb to second place with a 5.806. "We just couldn't get past that doggone Watson today, in either class," Disbennett said. "We were pretty close today.· James Wolfe cracked the top 10 on the day's final ride. Watson now has a winning streak gOing. "My 540 was just awesome today, Watson said.
