seven for a forgettable first loop. Fujinami's concentration was also a bit off, as he crashed in section six (though not on the high wall, which he overcame spectacularly - only to fall on the easy descent). The Japanese rider also fived section 12, which was easily conquered by his rivals. After half-competition, except for Cabestany's low 10 points, the others were very close. Marc Freixa was second, scoring 21 marks; then came Fujinami, with one point more. Lampkin was in fourth, tied with Marc Colomer with 23 penalties. In the second loop, Cabestany started badly, worsening his score in the first three sections, but then he recovered very well. Although Fujinami and Raga. scored the best second loop (11 points), they only secured second and third places, respectively. Lampkin was fourth, with Colomer fifth. DAve The organizers modified five sections, making them easier for the Junior class (some bends before the obstacles were enlarged in order to permit the strict application of the rules). Indeed, the observers were even more strict and, in some places, even riders who kept the bike moving were punished for stops! Cabestany fived sections two and three, giVing an advantage to his rivals, but Lampkin also failed in section four. Colomer, on the other hand, was proceeding very well and led everyone as he showed his best form from the past. Apart from dabbing in section three, Fujinami also showed impressive determination. At the end of the first loop, the differences were minimal. At the top was Colomer with 10 points, just one more than Lampkin and Fujinami, and then came Cabestany with 13 and Cobos with 15. In the second loop, Cabestany and Lampkin both experienced bogies (the former fived in two, and the latter in four). Colomer also fived section three, so the lead went to Fujinami, but only until section eight, which he had easily cleaned the loop before. This time, he dabbed twice and then crashed, dropping to third place. Lampkin won and Cabestany beat out Fujinami for second, based on the number of cleans. Raga's great loop (six points) propelled him to fourth place, ahead of Colomer, who yielded a little on the final circuit. eN Mob Club Ancelle Ancell., Fnnce ResuJb: June 22-23, 2002 DAY 1: I.
