Happenings In Motorcycling ~D [fl) 0 tID (Q] [fl) @[J ~ ~©[fu@@~@ llJJ@ On June II, KTM invited members of the press to EI Cajon Speedway, in EI Cajon, Callf~rrua, to sample Superrnotard firsthand, and to help promote the upcoming World Championship round In Las Vegas, scheduled for November 2-3. KTM is the primary sponsor of the event and has been working to bring World Championship Supermotard racing to the States. It was essentially a 'Motard awareness day, allowing members of the press to sample various KTM products and get a feel for the sport that is gaining popularity in leaps and bounds in the U.S. KTM brought along a couple of LC4 640 Supermotos, a few Dukes, and a pair of its $22,000 "factory replica" LC4 660 Supermoto bikes for participants to sample. Not only did KTM bring bikes along, but they also brought along someone who really knows how to ride them - KTM's factory Supermotard pilot Klaus Kinigadner (pictured on top), brother?f two-time 250cc World Motocross Champion (1984-85) Heinz Kjnigadner. Another special guest was KTM-backed AMA Grand National dirt tracker Joe Kopp (pictured at bottom), who also knows a thing or two about sliding a motorcycle around a racetrack. The World Championship round scheduled for Las Vegas hasn't been confirmed as of yet, but should be in the near future. Stay tuned to Cycle News and we'll keep you posted. T e Ago TT • Ten-time Isle of Man TT winner Giacomo Agostini and seven-time winner Mick Grant circulated the legendary mountain course on June 7 as part of an honorary lap that was held during intermission between the Junior and Senior TT events. Agostini was aboard a Team Obsolete MV Agusta 500cc three-cylinder that he rode in his epic 1967 battle with Mike Hallwood, according to Team Obsolete. Grant rode an exfactory Triumph Trident that is owned by the National Motorcycle Museum in England.
