Alex Heath took the holeshot in the Support A contest. but Joel "The Bull" Parsons ran him down. passing Heath and Jim Fey on the inside. The Bull got the victory. In Division One racing, Larsen took the holeshot going into the first comer. followed closely by Tom Sephton and Jeremy Parsons. Sephton got a little wild. allowing Parsons to make the pass. Sephton tried everything to get past Parsons. but he did not succeed. Parsons took second. and a very fast Larsen took first place. Champion Speedway started off on the right foot and will continue to get better. With great riders and a great track, the season will be competitive and exciting. MAY 27 Some 300 entrants filled the gates at day two of Lincoln Trail's Double-X event. Like Sunday's race. a $3.000 Pro-Am cash purse and Moose Racing contingency was at stake. The 125cc A. 250cc A. and Four-Stroke classes split the cash purse, paid out on each moto finish. in the afternoon, the skies opened up, resulting in a muddy track for most second motos. Rain or shine, Kyle Garro and Dave Espinoza were on the gas. Garro cashed in on a moto win and the 250cc A overall, along with second overall in the 125cc A class. Espinoza collected two Pro·Am moto wins, one in 250cc A and one in Four-Stroke. Good starts were keys to Garro's 250cc A victory. Garro got the first-mota holeshot, but Espinoza quickly took over. Dustin Pulley rounded out the top three. A light rain began in the second moto. Motsinger (6-2) picked up third overall. Dustin Puiley owned the l25cc A Pro-Am class, leading both motos from start to finish. In the first moto. Roy Horton picked up second. Garro worked his way through the pack to challenge Jason Brewington for third. and on the last lap Garro passed Brewington. In the second moto. Pulley maintained his dominance, while Garro and Derek Leist ran solid in second and third. Pulley (1-1) piloted his YZ250F to the overall win, followed by Garro (3-2) and Horton (2-5). Espinoza (9-\) and Horton (1-6) collected their share of the Four-Stroke purse with moto wins, but consistency awarded Brewington (4-2) with the overall. In the first moto. Timothy Pridemore and Alex Rossetto came around tum one side by side, with Espinoza in third. Espinoza moved to the front and started pulling away. At the white fiag. there was a 10-second gap between Espinoza and the battle for second place between Rossetto and Horton. Rossetto had enough of Horton's pressure. and he waved Horton past at the white flag. Then disaster struck for Espinoza: He crashed on a kicker bump and shattered his throttle. Espinoza salvaged ninth. as Horton and Rossetto finished first and second. The track was muddy in the second moto. and only a handful of brave riders showed up to the gate. Espinoza shook off his bad luck from the first moto and led the entire second mota. Horton crashed while running in third.
