Senn placed third in the 125cc Money contest. worked his way back into a tight battle for third with KTM rider Ben Fleetwood, Dustin Admire and Collins. Millsaps scored another win, while Link kept him in sight this time. Boutwell won the battle for third and edged Collins in a tie breaker in the overall scoring. Nathan Adams led the first 19rider 85cc Beginner moto, followed by series contender Brandon Devilbiss, Michael Sapienza and Chris Crumb. On lap one, Crumb went down hard over the quad jump, and Troy Balsters came from outside the top five to take the point on his Yamaha. Balsters went on to post a huge win over Josh P. Adams. Sapienza and Devilbiss. Josh pulled a strong second-moto holeshot, ahead of Sapienza. Balsters and Devilbiss. Balsters doubled to second and went after Adams. They raced well ahead of the field, with Josh Adams taking the win. Kawasaki jockeys Sapienza and Devilbiss dueled to the end, with Devilbiss coming out on top. In Hobby-class racing, Robert Godfrey put his early-'90s KX250 in the winners' circle with a 1-1 sweep. In race one. there was a four-way battle for second between Jody Goodwin, Richard Edwards. Jack Devilbiss and Rodney Parsons. Goodwin broke away and secured the spot. In race two, Devilbiss and Parsons swapped second place while Ken Crew, Goodwin and Kim Lelli raced for fourth. Devilbiss took second, while Parsons slipped behind Goodwin and Edwards for a fifth-place finish. Local rider Admire topped both motos of the 125cc C class. In heat one. he warded off a race-long challenge from Baker. Racing for third, Clint Stagner and Collins made contact on the last lap. Stagner claimed the position. Admire and Baker pulled well ahead of the pack to repeat their positions in race two. Collins moved up a notch to third. Stagner could only muster an eighth, but he still trophied with fourth overall. Daryl Maxwell used the power of his Honda CRF450R to grab the first 250cc D moto start ahead of fellow Honda riders Rob Davis and David Bote. Davis passed for first, while three falls dropped Bote from contention. Behind winner Davis and Maxwell, Kenny Stinson and Yamahamounted Bill Russell placed third and fourth. In moto two, but Maxwell and Davis doubled past early leader Russell. Davis reached the checkers first. Maxwell found himself caught up in a five-way battle for second. Bruce Blair came out in the best shape; his 5-2 tally was good for third overall. Maxwell came in fourth and placed second overall for the night. The first combined Over 30/0ver 40 moto saw Joey Bruer and Mark Grant racing for the lead. KTMmounted Jason Swain moved up to challenge them both. Swain took second from Grant but then got out of shape and relinquished the position. Randy Barfield ran a lonely fourth. Grant moved back on Bruer on the white-flap lap and finished a close second. Swain was third. Grant took a hard fall in the second 250cc-C class moto and so was a DNS for the second Over 30/0ver 40 moto. Bruer put his KX250 out front, with Swain right behind. Swain turned up the heat, and on lap two he made an outside pass on Bruer for the lead. Bruer briefly stayed in contact but then settled into second. Barfield brought his Yamaha in third. Mid-Atlantic Championship Cup Series Summit Point Raceway Acree BE Bemisderfer's Swmnit Meeting Bv that while Bemisderfer might have the edge on power, the smaller Acree might be a little more adept in heavy traffic. Acree took the Akrapovic GTU, the $1500 Speed screen GP and the Expert Middleweight SuperSport events for the weekend. Though fending off Bemisderfer was the rule of the weekend for Acree. Bemisderfer gave Acree the best run for his money in Saturday's GTO. As the GTO began, Acree got an excellent start, but Rick Beggs got a better one and led Acree down the front straight and maintained the KEITH SHEARON SOMMIT POINT, WV, MAY 12 ee Acree. on his Arclight Suzuki, and Tim Bemisderfer, aboard the Shenandoah Hondas, duked it out in the top classes as Acree met Bemisderfer on the latter's home turf of Summit Point, West Virginia. "'t's a dogfight with Tim," said Acree. whose 2002 season focuses on the entire FUSA schedule and six AMA rounds. Acree cited grid position as the single biggest factor in competing with Bemisderfer.
