WELLSTON, OH, JUNE 9
nce again, the Appalachian Dirt
Riders hosted a memorable
event in the hills surrounding Wellston, Ohio, but the one rider who'll
no doubt remember it the longest is
Yamaha/Bridgestone/Factory Connection/Pro Circuit-backed Randy
Hawkins, who charged hard
throughout the day, dropped 32
points and nabbed the overall win,
putting an end to Mike Lafferty's
winning streak.
I
Wet and slimy trail conditions that
were present for the fourth round of
the AMA National Championship
Enduros Series kept the rest of the
scores set apart by multiple minutes.
Series points leader Lafferty rode his
KTM to second overall, which was the
first time he has been beaten since
last year. Lafferty has been on a roll
lately, also posting top finishes
(including a win) in this year's Grand
National Cross Country Series.
(Below) Laffterty might have lost his
first National Enduro of the year. but
he stili owns a commanding points
lead.
